No, there is no agree to disagree. That's what western kuffar believe when one says homosexuality is okay and the other says it's not, then they agree to disagree. We have Islam and it's rules to tell us, and we have the Ullema to tell us.

The Ullema have said that it is haram to go somewhere where there is free mixing if there is no need. So, no University is not haram but a going to a mixed gendered one is. There are single sex universities but you don't want an education, you want to go to one where there are boys so mixed gatherings can occur, and dating can occur, and sex can occur, and then Muslim girls run to the surgeon to have a surgery done to restore their "virginity" and then they lie and pretend to be a virgin to get married to a righteous Muslim man.

Ok, what advice should you give that sister?

Also, I attend university, that's free mixed as I don't have one that's only for females in my area, are you suggesting now I should leave it because it's haram?

Attending university is not clear cut haram, like alcohol, pork, etc.

There may be differences of opinions regarding this matter.

True true, but making stuff from haram to halal is not good for ya. Music is haram, and who ever make it halal, then they are kafirs

I wouldn't say that it is haram or halal, but keeping females only in your area is a good move.

If your father gives you permission to attend university, then there's no problem at all.

Sis, university is halal, it's a place of learning and education and there is nothing haram about attending it.

the actual concept of a muslim woman going to a certain location for an education (i.e a university) with the consent of her father is permissible afaik. No one is arguing about that.

the point being made is about haram elements found in these locations which make it unlawful. such as in this case free mixing, which is being discussed.

She can go, just let her remember that free mixing is haram, and ALLAH will forgive all sins expect shirk. If you make something from haram to halal, then you are a kafir.

Most muslim men/women hang with oppose gender because of their lack of knowledge of the religion or being misguide by someone.

People cannot sin with the mentality that Allah will forgive all sins except shirk. Remember, Muslims will also go to hell fire. They will be taken out after their punishment is over. Where as the Kuffar will remain in hell fire for eternity because of their shirk....them and the "muslims" who commit shirk.

In a mixed gender school/classroom you do a lot more than sit next to a person of the opposite gender. Did you even go to a school?!

My point is that if there are things happening, such as free mixing, does that make it totally haram for us to attend university and thus becomes strictly forbidden?

So in England exam results came out today and I got the grades I needed to get into my university choice. I prayed to Allah everyday to help me get in and he must have answered my duaa.
But then I read somewhere that Muslim girls can't go to university because they're not allowed to leave the house without permission of their husband. I'm way too young to be married so I'm guessing the next person who has authority over me is my dad. And he's given me his consent.
So is it halal for me to go university? Why would Allah answer my prayers if it was haraam?

If you're dad says it's ok to go, then go. You will find many muslims there. My friends daughters go to university in hijab or niqab.

You could go to a univeristy close to home. I wasn't allowed to stay in the halls of residences so I went to uni in my own town. Came and went everyday. It's better to stay with parents anyway, because after uni you get married and move away.
