  • The Muslim that keeps on sinning?

    Brothers and sisters,

I would like to ask a question. What happens to the Muslim that keeps on sinning - but feels truly sorry for what he has done - but by habit, continues to sin regardless of how sorry he is?

For example, if a man were a drug addict and truly believes that there is 1 God and Mohammad (pbuh) was his messenger... aspires to break his habit but the habit itself has taken chemical control and every time he uses drugs he actually tells Allah (swt) that he is sorry and remembers him. What does our religion say about this?

This to me is a heart breaking situation... and a situation that does effect many.

    Fire away.

GOD do not forgive sin. he only forgive if you repent seriously and never repeat it again! many people says whenever we ask for forgiveness we are forgiven..Yes but only when you wont repent it and surrender to GOD!

if He were to forgive their sins, His Law of Justice would be destroyed, and all men would become most sinful. Knowing that their sins will be forgiven, they will become fearless and will be greatly encourage to commit sins. For example, if the ruler of a country were to pardon the criminals, they would be encouraged to commit crimes greater still. For knowing well that the king will not punish them, they will be confident in their minds that they will get the king's pardon by folding their palms and doing other acts of humility. Even those who are not criminals, being no longer deterred by any fear of punishment, will begin to commit crimes. Therefore, it is but meet that God should give souls the just fruits of their deeds and not to forgive their sins.

So it's conditional. Sins forgiven only when you surrender and wont repeat it again! but sin like murder etc wont forgiven..we reap what we sow! it's his Law of justice!

one should take steps to stop that sin, e.g, if it is a porn addiction then get id of porn accessible devices etc, if it is a drug addiction, suffer for Allah all you can, do not take the drug; it's like stopping smoking I suppose; it may take some time but one has to strive to eventually get there or otherwise this would be hypocrisy if a person does not take steps to stop the sin
