  • Can my brother, and I pray together in the same room?

my brother is 15, and wants to start praying. He does not know many duas, and therefore wants to pray with me so that I may recite and he may follow.

    Is this permissable?

I'm aware that I have to be behind him, but I'm just worried because I know the man must lead the prayer?

I know a woman and husband may pray, but I don't know about siblings.

So in summary 1) can me and my brother pray together in the same room 2)can I lead the prayer by reciting out loud, even though I'm behind him?

    Thank you

    As far as I know

praying in the same room is not an issue for mehrams

It is better for your brother to learn the method and lead. Women leading men makes the mans prayer invalid

SO inshallah teach your brother and let him lead

It's probably better for him to learn the ayats and then read. Then at least you can sit next to him and ask him to pray in his normal speaking voice and then correct him if he goes wrong. That's how I do it with my kids.

Also, tell him if he is to lead the prayer that he can doesn't have to say it all fancy like they do in the masjid, just plain reciting is fine.
