    Ibn Muflih said in al-Adaab al-Shar’iyyah (3/521):

Abu Haneefah (may Allaah be pleased with him) wore an expansive rida’ and let it drag on the ground. It was said to him: Are we not forbidden to do this? He said: That is for those who show off and we are not among them. End quote.

Recite :saw: when you read this sentence.

I hate it that dresses are made so long that they drag on the ground unless one alters them. Gone are the times when people custom made clothing. Now we have one-size fits all.

          :jkk: for the reminder
I heard that woman should have their ankles covered but i wasn't sure about ruling of men. The link above gives diverse fatwas

Who said anything about shopping around for fatwas. This is only about getting information and knowledge. If it's not done on an islamic site, then where?

OP lives in Pakistan > Googles a fatwa > Asks anonymous laymen for their opinions on fatwa > Asks for Hanafi opinion (from Pakistan) > Starts Googling again

All this despite there being a million threads, articles, videos and books on the internet on this very ruling. Did I mention OP is in Pakistan? It's fatwa-shopping.

What does living in Pakistan have anything to do with it?

So the hanafi position is that it is allowed to do so, coz we're not from amongst the arrogant...
You sure man it is permissible to wear pants below ankle without pride/show off in Hanafi fiqh?

Those links are not even Hanafi website.

For men, pants / thawb should not be below the ankles. For women, they should be but shouldn't drag on the floor.
