Re: Billions of non-muslim go to hell and Allah says he is merciful?

    68. Know that no-one will enter Paradise except through the Mercy of Allah. Allah will not punish anyone except according to the degree of his sins. If He were to punish them all, the inhabitants of the heavens and earth, the good and the bad of them, then He would punish them without being unjust to them. It is not permissible to describe Allah The Most High as being unjust, since the unjust is the one who takes that which is not his own, whereas creation and decree belong to Allah, The Magnificent. The creation is His creation and the world is His. He is not to be questioned about what He does but they are to be questioned. 'Why?' and 'How?' are not to be asked. None can enter between Allah and His creation. Imam Barbahaaree in his Sharh us Sunnah

Ubayy ibn K'ab reports that the Prophet s.a.a.w. said, "If Allah punished those who inhabit His Heavens and His earth, He would punish them without being unjust to them. If He had Mercy upon them, His mercy would be greater than their actions." Reported by Abu Dawud, Ibn Maajah and Ahmad. Hadith is declared sahih by al-Albani in his Saheehul-Jami (no. 5244)
"When a man sees the road as long he weakens in his walk." Ibn Qayyim

How about the Amerindians? They've been living in the Americas, far separated from the religions of the Old World, specifically Islam since that's what we're talking about. Vast empires, tribes, and confederacies have existed in North America and South America and the Caribbean for that matter as well and these people have only known their religious beliefs which were usually polytheistic or animistic. So for these people that are miles apart from Europe, Africa, and Asia, I see no way for Islam to reach these people during the pre-columbian times so I can't fathom how they could be guilty of not knowing their lord since such a thing for them would have been impossible.

          Hi friends,
I am here after a long time.I recently came across this question. So my question is will Allah send the people who were born in some other religion and practised it perfectly, will he go to hell.If yes, what is his mistake?.Allah made him born there knowing this is gonna happen and then he burns them?.Excluding like some of us here doubted our own religion, everyone believes that their religion is true and follow it with utmost sincerity And never thought even once in his life that he is on a wrong religion, what is his mistake?.Except 1.6bn muslim 4-5bn are gonna to hell.???
          Religion Adherents
          Christianity[4] 2.2 billion
          Islam 1.6 billion
          Secular[a]/Nonreligious[b]
The operatI've ayaat specifically addressing the billions of nonMuslims and addressing those who have gone astray:
          7:172-175
And [mention] when your Lord took from the children of Adam - from their loins - their descendants and made them testify of themselves, [saying to them], "Am I not your Lord?" They said, "Yes, we have testified." [This] - lest you should say on the day of Resurrection, "Indeed, we were of this unaware."
Or [lest] you say, "It was only that our fathers associated [others in worship] with Allah before, and we were but descendants after them. Then would You destroy us for what the falsifiers have done?
And thus do We [explain in] detail the verses, and perhaps they will return.
And recite to them, [O Muhammad], the news of him to whom we gave [knowledge of] Our signs, but he detached himself from them; so Satan pursued him, and he became of the deviators
Everyone has testified that there is no god but Allah. And this covenant is part of our nature, ie. Fitrah.
Allahumma, aranee al haqqu haqqan wa arzuqnee itiba`ahu, wa aranee al baatilu baatilaan wa arzuqnee ijtinaabahu.Oh Allah! show us the truth as true, and inspire us to follow it. Show us falsehood as falsehood, and inspire us to abstain from it.
" Do you know what destroys Islam? A mistake made by a scholar, the argument of a hypocrite in writing and the ruling of leaders who wish for people to stray

what happens before islam is between those people and Allah, for Allah is never unjust to any of His servants

but truth be told, you were not speaking of past civilizations, you are talking about the vast majority of people, who spend their times chasing folly, hear about islam (calls us terrorists) then hoists up another beer

Re: Billions of non-muslim go to hell and Allah says he is merciful?

Look, Allah is never unjust. If I or you, who are not the most merciful of person in the world, can still have an iota of mercy about the fate of these people -- then leave alone Allah!!! Allah is much more merciful than that and He knows every inner secrets of humans more than they are to themselves. So would He randomly creating people just for the purpose of randomly throwing them in hell without them being aware first of it? It's not that simple in Divine sight, He's not as short-sighted as we often thought Him to be!

The rule of thumbs (as been foretold by Ghazali) is that if due to any circumstances, person do not receive Islam because it's not presented properly and perfectly, or because no one telling it to him, or that he sincerely seeks the truth but his lifespan or whatever doesn't permit him, then Allah will test him in Hereafter to see he's worthy of Jannah or not. Only when he has received the message of undistorted Islam perfectly, but still reject it, esp.if it's due to arrogance, then he will go to hell. Even so, only Allah knows the inner secret of everyone, so we cannot ever really judge who goes to hell and who is saved.

To add to the op don't people born into Muslim families have an advantage? Like he has a better chance of learning the truth of Islam than a child born into an atheist or Christian family that hates Islam?
Why would God cause someone to be born in a non muslim family...when statistically the chances of them becoming. Muslim are very low?

This is it in a nutshell. All of mankind is born with the Fitrah. We all know Allah exists, we all know that there is one creator, but most choose to ignore him and pursue their own desires. Who are we to judge the type of punishment Allah decrees.

Also, not everyone who doesn't follow Islam will go to hell. For the rare case of people living away from Islamic exposure, they will be tested on Judgement day.

Your fitnah is the innate part of your being calling upon you to worship your Creator, what psychologists have labelled the reverence instinct, now you still need to direct this instinct to the worship of your Lord, and find out whether this religion is true or false but the fact child are born believers and have this instinctive need is accepted by scientists who study this aspect of the human condition.

Those who have a valid situation and excuse of ignorance or truth not reaching them will not go without having for them a messenger sent to them on the day of judgement to test them regarding this. So whether you are muslim or follow something else now no one but allah knows where you will end up - hell/heaven. Only he knows what goes on in the hearts of people. But you can be sure that everyone, especially including the persons that go to hell will have no objection to the justice of Allah when all that has hidden will be revealed on the day of judgement - all they will ask for is for another chance, i.e to go back to the world to do good.
I think this is the best answer on this so far.

Each man is either grateful to Allah, or ungrateful to Allah. Those who are ungrateful will only see evil in everything,
and will forget all the good blessings that Allah has given him. A Muslim must continue to focus on the positives,
or he will be consumed by hatred. And that hatred will ruin him, just as it ruined ismail123, our Muslim brother once.
May Allah guide him back to Islam. Amin.
