Allah only requires a good heart, sincere, constant effort, and small baby steps. Remember the turning from an alcoholic society to am intoxicant free one? Didn't happen abrupt. It took a long time.
Take a pen and paper and write down your goal i.e. where you want to be in the end... Then chart some milestones that will be your constant guide as you get them done one by one.

      1. It is commendable you are looking for something else but
      2. Even if you had a haraam career, it makes you a sinner, which we all are. No one has the right to judge you. If you wish to stay where you are, don’t beat yourself up about it. Yes, it may be a sin but keep it if it makes you most happy and doesn’t ruin your life if you quit. In the meantime you can go back to school or apply for jobs until you find one. You don’t have to leave immediately if it will cause more harm than good.
      3. Focus on loving and worshiping God first.
