  • Does inhaling steam while ironing break the fast?

I had to iron some clothes and realized that I was fasting, so what I did was I did my best to avoid inhaling the steam while ironing but obviously some was inhaled. Would this break the fast in the Hanafi school?

No steam does not break the fast. Fasting entails avoiding food, drink, sex, smoking (and maybe certain forms of medication depending on what school of thought you follow on that). It's also the optimal time to focus on increasing your good deeds such as by reading Quran more etc. Please don't split hairs by overthinking beyond that.

I mean people can do that themselves.

No, I asked because you searched.

Either I google a fatwa or I issue a made up one myself. I thought people would prefer the former.

Why are you pandering to what the people want? Let them Google their own fatwa.

Maybe they asked because inhaling smoke breaks your fast and they wondered if steam would do the same. I don't think it's a stupid question.
Has the time not come for those who have believed that their hearts should become humbly submissive at the remembrance of Allah and what has come down of the truth? And let them not be like those who were given the Scripture before, and a long period passed over them, so their hearts hardened; and many of them are defiantly disobedient. (57:16)
