    Sunni-Shia Debate.

السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاته

If you're Shi'a and think you're ready to defend your beliefs, please step up to the thread and make yourself known.

This is nothing but a friendly invite to our Shi'a brothers for a debate/discussion.

May Allah guide us all to the haqq.

      Re: Sunni-Shia Debate.

Shiism has become a separate religion, much the way Judaism emerged in contrast to the Deen revealed to the prophets, and how Paulianism emerged from the Deen revealed to prophet Isa bin Maryam .

Shia doctrine includes elevating the imams as partners with Allah, controlling the universe, determining future events, etc.

Shiism includes distinct pillars of faith: testimony of Ali's wilaya, separate prayers, including a distinct prayer to Fatima, a separate alms/zakat sadaqa which is khums 20% of earnings, a nd hajj to the shrines and tombs of the imams as more important to the actual hajj of Islam.

Shiism has become a separate religion, and the Tawaghit powers recognize this and seek to enable it to thrive against the Deen of Islam and its followers, the Ahlil Sunnah wa Jamaah.

It is inappropriate to offer "friendly" discourse to followers of Shiism.
Rather, they should be confronted outright and made aware of the misguidance of their religion. In that sense, we should speak the Haqq and be upright with them.

Allahumma, aranee al haqqu haqqan wa arzuqnee itiba`ahu, wa aranee al baatilu baatilaan wa arzuqnee ijtinaabahu.Oh Allah! show us the truth as true, and inspire us to follow it. Show us falsehood as falsehood, and inspire us to abstain from it.

        Good points akhi :jkk:

However the laymen from the Shi'a are given excuses due to their ignorance and it is better to give them da'wah with hikmah than to always confront them which may take them further away from the truth. Wallahu a'lam.

You just go straight in ma sha Allah.

All that you say is true, however (and taking out political factors here) on a purely religious basis some Shia sects do not adhere to all that mentioned above, though are still misguided in other respects.

Hence, if a Shia is civil enough in his manners, isn't it worthwhile engaging them in a 'friendly' debate? He may go away positively altered in his beliefs and it would be your doing, which would be a good thing.

I have some questions about intercession, which I'd really like to politely discuss with a shia.
            وَاقْصِدْ فِي مَشْيِكَ وَاغْضُضْ مِن صَوْتِكَ ۚ إِنَّ أَنكَرَ الْأَصْوَاتِ لَصَوْتُ الْحَمِيرِ - 31:19

And be moderate in your pace and lower your voice; indeed, the most disagreeable of sounds is the voice of donkeys."

Do you not see that Allah has made subject to you whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth and amply bestowed upon you His favors, [both] apparent and unapparent? But of the people is he who disputes about Allah without knowledge or guidance or an enlightening Book [from Him].

Forum's dead, I doubt you'd find any Shiah here.

You think you know more than my scholar's qiyās? He was more learned than you and all other scholars combined. Yeah, the devil was the greatest scholar too and look where his qiyās of fire being better than tīn got him. Sorry.

You follow your scholar's qiyās, and I will follow the Qur'ān and Sunnah.

“Have you seen he who has taken as his god his [own] desire, and Allah has sent him astray due to knowledge and has set a seal upon his hearing and his heart and put over his vision a veil? So who will guide him after Allah ? Then will you not be reminded? And they say, “There is not but our worldly life; we die and live, and nothing destroys us except time.” And they have of that no knowledge; they are only assuming.” Quran 45:23-24
