    Picturing prophets in mind

Is it Islamically right to have a picture of prophet in mind when remembering them? Someone told me they imagine them and feel closer to them when reciting salawat .

I would not do this. People don't have pictures of the Prophets so they shouldn't make up images in their minds for them.

it is ok to do it according to the deoabandi sufi teachings; they say this is the point of description hadiths about Prophets; to imagine a picture of them in our mind, so as long as you can maintain the line of just respecting and adoring and not crossing into worshiping them it should be fine! :)
