  • How can you make worshipping Allah that get you positive results? please advise.

I remember a few months ago when I started to worship Allah with bit more effort and determination, I didn't expecting anything but I started to get good positive results.
Since I was doing this kind of worship I was feeling more happier, calm and positive in myself, I think people also made remark that I look different in positive way and I think I was seeing Islamic dreams daily basis. A few weeks later I became bit despair and my worshipping was lacking so I think positive results I was getting stopped, now I am trying to worship like that again but this time I am getting opposite results, meaning it's not good.
I want to ask is that normal? maybe sometimes you will get positive results sometimes you won't or maybe I need to make more effort?
I am not saying I should be getting results, we worship Allah because we love Him but changes happened to me so I was wondering why it isn't happening now?
I think shaytaan giving me thoughts like Allah is angry with me, He is gave up with me and worship isn't getting accepted because I keep messing it up.
By the way I made mistake when typing title of this post, I was going to say how to make improvement to worship when it's lacking.

Always remember that the purpose of life is to worship Allah, the one God. If we acknowledge this simple truth, day in and day out, with our hearts, tongues, thoughts, and actions then our lives will have meaning and we can look forward to success in this life and the next. By prioritising studying the Qur'an and Sunnah we can better understand how Allah wishes us to live our lives in His service, improve our worship and the results that we seek will follow in sha'Allah. Try to be patient and remember that Allah has a great plan for us all and will make things happen when and how He knows is best for us.

Do not be afraid to ask Allah for His help, but at the same time try and improve your worship each and every day, be patient and accept with gratitude whatever Allah has decreed for you. And yes, be wary of Shaytaan.
Allah is so Great and Merciful that although we continue to disobey Him, He still awaits for our repentance so that He may forgive us.

Thanks for your input, I think I am not making enough effort and lacking determination so I need to work more harder.

        Assalamu Alaikum,

Don't be too hard on yourself sister. Remember the best deeds are those that are small but done frequently. Get into the habit of one small deed at a time rather than trying to be "perfect" in worship. Many of us push ourselves too hard as we try and achieve perfection whether it is perfection in worship, healthy eating habits, work, academics, sleeping pattern, daily tasks. Even a little a day is better than completely crashing out altogether.

The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) stated:

Religion is easy, and no one overburdens himself in his religion but he will be unable to continue in that way. So do not be extremists, but try to be near perfection and receive the good tidings that you will be rewarded. Gain strength by worshipping in the mornings and afternoons and during the last hours of the night.”

        Narrated by al-Bukhaari (39) and Muslim (2816).

Al-Haafiz Ibn Rajab (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:

The meaning of this hadeeth is that it is not allowed to go to extremes in religion, by overburdening oneself with acts of worship that one cannot do except with extreme hardship. This is what is meant by the words of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), “No one overburdens himself in his religion but he will be unable to continue in that way”, i.e., religion is not to be approached in an extreme manner, and whoever does that will be defeated.

According to another report: “The best of your religion is that which is easiest, the best of your religion is that which is easiest.” Musnad Ahmad (3/479). It was classed as hasan by the commentators.

According to a marfoo’ report narrated by ‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Amr ibn al-‘Aas:

“This religion is very profound so approach it in a gentle manner and do not make yourself hate the worship of Allaah because the traveller who does not let his mount rest will not reach his destination and his mount will not be able to keep going.”

        al-Sunan al-Kubra by al-Bayhaqi (3/19)

Al-Haafiz Ibn Hajar (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:

What is meant is that no one goes to extremes in religious deeds and forsakes the easy approach but he will become incapable and will be unable to continue in that way.

This does not mean that we should not worship Allah devotedly as much as we can but it means we should not worship to the point where it will cause us burn out and we start getting fatigued and bored.

So it is better that we adopt small deeds regularly and get into the habit of performing each deed before we go onto the next.

          وَاقْصِدْ فِي مَشْيِكَ وَاغْضُضْ مِن صَوْتِكَ ۚ إِنَّ أَنكَرَ الْأَصْوَاتِ لَصَوْتُ الْحَمِيرِ - 31:19

And be moderate in your pace and lower your voice; indeed, the most disagreeable of sounds is the voice of donkeys."

Do you not see that Allah has made subject to you whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth and amply bestowed upon you His favors, [both] apparent and unapparent? But of the people is he who disputes about Allah without knowledge or guidance or an enlightening Book [from Him].

Prophet Ayub (As) was the epitome of patience and gratitude. A wonderful example for us all with regards to how we should be during trials and hardships:

Maybe the first time you worshipped first then got positive results.

And second time you worshipped TO get positive results.

Worship Allah for the sake of pleasing Him. Then you'll get more than good results. I ask Him to give me what's good for me. Even if it is despair and sadness, I know that I am worshipping Him, I am good. I thank Him for everything. Don't slack. Be consistent. Shaytaan will try everything to come in your way.
