Indeed he is right. First of all the kuffaar shouldn't even have enough value for us that we use them as our icon, second they are beardless and the old scholars prohibited men from looking at such men, third it is promoting something haraam (Football matches), fourth the picture shows them in a weird and inappopriate manner. And there are more reasons as well. It would be best if you removed it and replaced it as quickly as possible.
