Murad IV - Conquest of Baghdad (HD)

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-_NuRDsDu8

This video is a re-creation of events during the Ottomon-Safavid War of 1623-39.

The background is that the Ottomon Empire was busy fighting in Europe the Shia Iranian Safavi Empire saw a opportunity and attacked in the Middle East.

They took over Iraq, and parts of Georgia and Azerbaijan and but ran into local resistance as they got deeper into the Sunni heartlands and this slowed the Safavid advance.

Meanwhile the Ottomons made a diplomatic alliance with the Sunni Mughal Empire as they also feared the Safavids in the East.

The Ottomons launched a grand campaign which went on for some years with changes of leadership on both sides, and territory being won and lost on both sides. Iraq changed hands a few times between the rival empires. Finally the 17th Caliph and Sultan of the Ottomon Empire Murad 4th launched a decisive effort that resulted in the capture of all the previously lost territory as well as Iraq and Baghdad by the Ottomons. Separately the Mughals also captured Kandahar (in modern Afghanistasn) in the East.

This decisive Ottomon Victory basically set the borders up until modern times.

The sad reality of ottoman was their downfall cause was suleiman qanunis mistakes he made far too many which the ottomans never recovered from

he lacked the ruling and millitary skills of his father and muhammad al fatih even bayezid ii who was very passive was a better millitary commander then him

his introduction of queens of ottoman or valide sultana positions started more problems failure to recognise the corrupt governors also proved fatal

The Ottomon Empire (and their distant counsins the Mogul Empire) would have fallen eventually anyway for another more critical reason...

The real problem with the Ottomons (and the Mughals) was that their Aqidah was not exactly the same as the Prophet (saw) and Sahaba (ra). Their Aqeedah was corrupted from the start through not much fault of their own - as time went on it got more corrupt and the bidahs developed more and more until finally the Empire started suffering more from within than from outside - because they remained a formidable military power until the very end (Turkey and Pakistan still have powerful armies).

They inherited a tradition of Islam which contained Sufi Tariqas, Tomb veneration, Blind following of the Hanafi Madhab, Many Bidahs in everyday life, and even some laws derived from Mongol-Timurid Clans (such as the killing of brothers, a great tolerance for Mushriqs, Mughals even marrying Hindu Mushriq women without converting them), for example the Ottomon Sultan Mustaffa III had 19 of his brothers killed when he became Sultan to eliminate any pretender to the throne - anyone who read the history of the 4 Righteous caliphs can see the degree of divergence.

On the plus side they held the Ummah together under a Shariah that still had many of the original rulings from the time of the sahaba, they saw it as their duty to make Jihad and protect the Muslim lands and peoples, in the beginning they were simple Mujahids feesabillah with some Sufi-Maturudi beliefs but as time went on the Dunya started opening to them, the Sufi orders got stronger - and because of their faulty Aqeedah they fell into more Bidah, and eventually Kufr (the latter period of the Ottomon Empire is in stark contrast to the early, the latter Ottomons are not distinguishable from any other European ruling families they even abolished the Jizya, and allowed Homosexuality (in 1858) as well as many other changes to remove Islamic laws in the 1800's tanzimat reforms - this was long before Ataturk and the modern secular republic. So we have to make a general distinction between the latter ottomons and the early ottomons.

But anyway, at least they didnt let the Shia roll over the Muslim world - for that alone if not for their countless other services to the Deen over a period of 600 years may Allah (swt) forgive the Ottomons and have mercy upon them, ameen.

This is the same with ummayad and abbasid as well

Ottomand calipha varied in their aqeedah same as ummayad and abbasid if some got it right others got it wrong
abbasid were also hanafi the extreme blind following of hanafi madhab again started as time went and got worse same/similar as how the flaws in abbasid ummayad happened

It is said had it not been for mutassims aqeedah he would have been the greatest abbasid calipha aqeedah alone isnt needed for success or it isnt always the reason why a empire downfall starts

salahuddin ayubi and nooruddin zinkee were asharis does that mean all their success is pointless or they are out of fold of ahlus sunnah wal jamaah and this was the cause of the downfall of the later sultans of their empire

killing of the brothers sons cousin etc existed in ummayad abbasid as well it was more about their own selfishness then a policy

all ummayad abbasid ottoman had many other flaws in them if amongst them some where good then others were bad others in the middle

this was how the rest of the khilafah was after khulafa rashideen

Ummayad abbasid similar and internal problems happened within them as well

abbasid went through their mutazilla phase but their end happened nor because of that but other

in ottomans case it was in the era of sultan ahmet where they made a sudden switch to barelvi aqeedah type sufism this is where they went corrupt in aqeedah fully as they abondoned many fardh sunnah and chose bidah shirk

the abolishment of certain shariah was done by all tanzimat reforms were only done by 3 or 4 of the deviants until abdul hamid ii may allah bless him immediately got rid of it

Even with mughal empire they had one of the greatest kings in islam aurangzeb alamgir rh
