    "Hasbunallahu wa ni`mal Wakil''

"Hasbunallahu wa ni`mal Wakil'' [Allah (Alone) is Sufficient for us, and He is the Best Disposer of affairs (for us).]'' (3:173).

    when youre world falls apart
and friends and neighbours shun you
when youve been exposed to the entire planet
    and everyone disowns you
when youre a prisoner in youre own home
whilst the worlds media stands guard outside
when youre intimate details are available to everyone
    and nothing remains private
no longer just a father a brother a son
but a public figure though reluctant you become
and try as you may youre experiences you share
you find the same wall of silence you had from day 1

    ALLAH IS ENOUGH FOR ME

    Re: "Hasbunallahu wa ni`mal Wakil''

Working for HHUGS for just over a year really has been an eye opener for me. I’ve experienced first hand the devastation an anti terror raid leaves behind.

Each time a raid takes place and a brother, or nowadays sister, is dragged from their home, a whole network of people are usually affected. A wife, sister, mother, child, father, brother or even husband’s life is all of a sudden shattered in one blow. Worse still, some, whose family is not even in the country, are left wondering does anyone out there know where I am? Who will hear my cries? Who will help me?

First hand, I have met a sister who while heavily pregnant watched her husband dragged away not knowing if her unborn child would ever see its father’s face. She then was left to fend for herself with no support and, not knowing the language was left alienated and very much isolated. To make matters worse she was then moved into an area which is renowned for its racism and is plagued with crime and deprivation. While her husband sits in a prison cell, not knowing if he ever will be released or even charged she has become a prisoner in her own home. HHUGS has been her light, her hope and has empowered her. Without HHUGS she says she would have been lost.

This time that I have worked with HHUGS has been so rewarding. For the first time I feel that I can physically, emotionally and spiritually help my sisters in need.

So let me ask you one simple question:

Is it not part of our Deen to help our brethren?

If we continue to wait and do nothing, very soon it will be one of our own who is taken away. It will be our house being raided. Then who will stand up to help?

I know as I talk from experience. After a year of working with various families through HHUGS, it then happened to one of my own. Their house was raided and my brother was dragged off in front of his 3 young children. Their house was ransacked and then the family was forced to stay overnight with friends leaving them dazed and confused. This is what the shock of it all does to you.

When it happens to one of your own it is even more heart wrenching. It makes us realise how helpless and hopeless creatures we are. My sister was one of the lucky ones though, as the sisters descended like moths to a flame to help her, to rally round for her and do everything they possibly could for her. She MashAllah was really one of the lucky ones.

But what about the sisters who do not know anyone? Who do not have a support network or any family? Worse still do not speak any English? This is where HHUGS steps in. They provide all the much needed support these sisters and their families need. HHUGS is there to pick up the pieces after the devastation, the one who rebuilds after the destruction.

My final question to you is this.

What are you waiting for? Are you waiting until it happens to one of your own or worse still to you? Then it may be too late. Why don’t you join HHUGS today and make a difference to someone’s life.

        Re: "Hasbunallahu wa ni`mal Wakil''

Since 9/11, over 600 Muslims have been arrested on terrorism charges. Some have been released without charge. However, 12 Muslim foreign nationals and a number of British Muslims have been 'buried in concrete' in Britain's Guantanamo Bay: Belmarsh and Woodhill prisons.

For every arrest and detention, a home has been raided and ravaged and a family has suffered the loss of a loved one, a bread winner, a dear husband, a much loved son. These are homes where Ramadhan will not quite be how it used to.

For many of these families, daily tasks have become difficult, they are struggling to make ends meet and transport to visit their loved ones is infrequent. On top of this, their community has shunned them, so they experience great loneliness and lack any emotional support.

        HOW CAN YOU HELP?

Hhugs (Helping Households Under Great Stress) has been set up with these families in mind. We aim to establish a base of volunteers in different parts of London who can give practical and emotional support to such families. We hope to provide such services as:

        Household help

        Childcare

        Help dealing with media

        Transport

        Emotional Support

Hhugs is looking for VOLUNTEERS in the UK.

Please contact [email protected] or 07931 833980 if you are able to help.

do we know about our prophets death, when and where, and how
or the children he had and the wives he loved, how many they were ,and names?

do we know the names and attributes of allah, the prophets, the sahabah?
            how many,some ,a few even

do we love what mohammed s.a.w. loved ?
            live as he did?
            eat as he did?
            sleep as he did?
or is sunnah just a word not a lifestyle for living?

we study and read and debate and become empassioned about
            football players
            movie actors
            dead singers
and other truly useless things of no benefit to our aakhirah

            what are our priorities?
            the questions of the grave?
or the knowledge and answers of no benefit to a muslim on judgement day

may allah make us of those who learn relevant things
            and speak of relevant things
            and contemplate relevant things
and prioritise our concerns correctly inshallah.
