    Re: Urdu Poetry

    Humne chaaha aapko,
    Aapne chaaha kissi awr ko,
    Khuda kare aapne jissko chaaha,
    woh chaahe kissi awr ko.

and my favourite - I made it up but MIGHT be a distant memory of one I read:

    Jisska socha usse paaya naheen,
    Jisse paaya usska socha naheen.
Rajab is a month of cultivation, Shaban is month of irrigating the fields, and the month of Ramadhan is a month of reaping and harvesting.”

Dil jalati hai par honthon se to lagti hai.

Har ik muskurahat muskaan nahi hoti,
nafrat ho ya muhabbat asan nahi hoti,
ansoo khushi ke, gham ke, hote he ik jese,
in ansoå ki koi pehchan nahi hotii.

Hum muskurahate hain to log samajh te hain muskaan hai,
Dunya yeh nahi jaanti, muskuraahat gham chupane ki aadat hai.

                          Re: Urdu Poetry

Reading your poetry, I am reminded of the following :
MAGAS KO BAAG ME JAANE NA DEEJIYO,

KE NA-HAQ KHOON PARVAANE KA HOGA.
Worship only the CREATOR, HE is One and HE is the SUSTAINER of the Universe. Do not worship any of HIS creations nor through HIS creations

                            What does magas mean
O son of Adam, indeed you are only but a number of days. Whenever a day passes, a part you leaves with it.
" It is only because of Islam that we gained 'izzah' (honor, dignity, and pride), and if we seek 'izzah' outside of Islam, Allah will humiliate us."

                              Magas = Bee

The poem means "Don't let the bee enter the garden, or the blood of many innocents will be shed for no reason"

"The `Aalim knows who is a Jaahil, because he used to be a Jaahil before. But the Jaahil does not know who is an `Aalim, because he was never an `Aalim before."

I thought magas was used in sentences such as this:
                                Mera magas na khaa.
