Assalamu Alaikum brothers and sisters, in order to aid vocabulary learning and to practice your Quran translation at the same time, I have developed a website called 'Dynamic Quran Vocabulary'.

It presents verses that you try to translate. You may either be able to do so, or may be presented with words that you don't know and need to memorise. It adapts to your progress level and presents verses accordingly.

    The website is: https://www.dynamicquranvocab.com

    Dear forum members,

I wonder if anyone knows a page in arabic like this or similar:
    http://www.french-games.net/

It is very interesting for children and adults as it is so interactive, with pictures, with choice of hearing words as many times as one needs, the exercises, the games.

    Hi,
I totally agree that flash cards are great idea, especially when somebody starts learning language.

I have started learning arabic very recently. To have better motivation I have created a site where I keep adding new flash cards (in polish - i am polish, and in arabic).

If you have time please view it (www.openflashcards.org). I would be really greateful for any feedback that would make my site better.

    Regards,
    Tomek

    Re: Vocabulary Learning Aids

I would suggested spaced repetition which has backing in research carried out in cognitive psychology. People who learn Chinese often use this system since they have to memorize over 50,000 characters! I have used this technique to consolidate my Quranic Memorization as I have outlined here and am using it to learn vocabulary, fatawas, fiqh, rules pertaining to Science of Hadith, and disease information for my upcoming Medical Exam.

I can assure there is no better way then to use spaced repetition. It saves time and ensures that what you learn is transferred into long term memory. There are free programs such as Anki and FullRecall which makes use of this phenomenon to allow you to memorize anything. For those interested in reading more about this phenomenon you can read it here. For those who want to download the software and start learning here you can download either Anki or FullRecall.
