  • Any good lecture series to learn quranic Arabic?

    :salams:
Does anybody know of any? Preferably mp3 as I can put them on my phone and listen as I do gardening / chores etc
I know there is bayinah but I'm hoping to find something free
What if you woke up today with only the things you thanked Allah for yesterday?

We worry about tomorrow as if its guaranteed

Re: Any good lecture series to learn quranic Arabic?

ok i winded up signing up to bayinah Alhamdulilah
im wary of his tafsirs as they are usually linguistic which while that is a valid form of tafsir it is only after interpreting Quran by Quran or Quran by hadith etc whereas he jumps straight into linguistic so probablly wont be listening to those

i did an arabic course last year through iou but i found it very difficult, had no idea what the guy was going on about in the lectures so gave up
so far bayinah is good and easy and i learned something today Alhamdulilah that makes a lot of sense

inshaAllah will keep you guys posted in case anyone else is interested

It makes sense to focus on the linguistic interpretation if it's in the context of learning Arabic language. But otherwise, you're right, it should always come after Qur'an and Hadith.

            Salam alaikum,
I highly recommend this speaker for English language tafseer, I think he has an affiliation with bayinah but he quotes other ayats, hadith, etc.

            https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WbuBDaObekY

he has tafseer of other suras also available

Wa alaykum asalam wa rahmatAllahi wa barakaatu

Depending on what level you are on, you might find this short 6-part video series incredibly useful. I don't know who the brother is, but he covers the basics of verb types and conjugations using examples from the Qur'an.

              Arabic for Qur'an

Bayinah is so much easier than iou or madinah online
Easy to grasp rafa, Nash, jarh whereas with iou it was very difficultto understand
Worth looking into if anyone is trying to learn Arabic

Is it a fully fledged online course? With videos and stuff?

                    :salams:
Yes except you don't submit assignments or take exams
Basically you watch the videos and read a odd for each one. He is teaching his young daughter in the bids so it is easy to understand

Hmm, sounds interesting. But if there's no assignments how do you practice?

There is exercises in the pdfs but you don't submit them
If I find it hard to grasp a concept I just re watch the lesson. He's teaching his daughter so it's pretty simple most of the time

Most of these books are very good
''If the bedouins and city dwellers were to fight between themselves until they wipe each other out, it will surely be less significant than them appointing a taghoot in the land which rules by that which is against the Shari'ah of Islaam which Allah sent his Messenger ﷺ with'' - Sheikh Sulayman bin Sahmaan
