    Re: Qadir and Aziz

    Qadir means "capable, powerful" in
Arabic & Aziz means "powerful, respected, beloved", derived from Arabic ﻋﺰّ ('azza) meaning "to be powerful"
    or "to be cherished".

      Re: Qadir and Aziz

their roots both have lots of meanings when used for Allah, basically what jcobra said and:

ﻣﻌﻨﻰ ﺍﻟﻌﺰﻳﺰ - ﺍﻟﻐﺎﻟﺐ ﺍﻟﺬﻱ ﻟﺎ ﻳﻘﻬﺮ
ﻣﻌﻨﻰ ﺍﻟﻘﺎﺩﺭ - ﺻﺎﺣﺐ ﺍﻟﻨﻔﻮﺫ و ﺍﻟﺴﻠﻂﺎﻥ و ﺍﻟﺘﺼﺮﻑ ﺍﻟﺘﺎﻡ ﻓﻲ ﺟﻤﻴﻊ ﺍﻟﺎﻛﻮﺍﻥ و ﺍﻟﻤﺴﺘﻂﻴﻊ و ﺍﻟﻘﻮﻱ

so al aziz means Allah can overcome everthing and nothing over him

al qadir means Allah has the power and authority over all existence, it also means he is able and strong/powerful

      this is from ﻗﺎﻣﻮﺱ ﺍﻟﻤﻌﺎﻧﻲ
