    Re: MS Office 2007 Arabic

Btw, not sure if its been posted on the forum before, but while searching on the net for the above, I came across this free cool tool from Microsoft

    http://www.microsoft.com/middleeast/egypt/cmic/maren

It lets you type what you want in English and puts it into Arabic script for you, although isn't always accurate.

No you don't need to buy anything - you need to go into 'Regional Settings' or whatever it is they call it in Vista (you'll find it in Control Panel) - and add the Arabic keyboard.

Once you have that, go in to Office, switch to the Arabic Keyboard, click the Right to Left button (which'll appear once you have the keyboard) and start typing.

Here are the instructions from M$FT themselves (Scroll down to the 'Arabic Language Support' section)

a homely home and simple pleasures, one or two friends,
worth the name, someone to love and someone to love you,
a cat, a dog, and a pipe or two, enough to eat and enough to wear,
and a little more than enough to drink; for thirst is a dangerous thing."

        Thankyou Joha!

For anyone else with Vista looking to do the same, its Regional and Language Options in Vista. Then select Keyboard and Languages tab and selected the Change Keyboards.. button and from the list I added Arabic (101) and now I alternate between languages through I neatly placed icon in the taskbar which by default is English shown by the abbreviation EN.
