Giving Thanks To The Gracious Creator (SWT) For This Morning/Evening

    Assalamu alaykum warahmatullah.

I seem to recall a thread was made regarding this beautiful remembrance/offering of thanks taught to us by our beloved Rasool ( :saw: ). It may have been Br Simple_traveller. Nonetheless, after my admittedly not very extensive search, I was unable to locate it, so...

    MORNING
اللهم ما أصبح بي من نعمة أو بأحد من خلقك فمنك وحدك لا شريك لك، فلك الحمد ولك الشكر

Allahumma ma asbaha be men ne’maten aw be-ahaden min khalqeka fa-minka wahdaka la shareka lak, fa-laka-lhamdu wa laka-shukr

    EVENING
اللهم ما أمسى بي من نعمة أو بأحد من خلقك فمنك وحدك لا شريك لك، فلك الحمد ولك الشكر

Allahumma ma amsa be men ne’maten aw be-ahaden min khalqeka fa-minka wahdaka la shareka lak, fa-laka-lhamdu wa laka-shukr

    TRANSLATION

"Oh Allah, all the favours that I or anyone of Your creation has received in the morning/evening is from You Alone. You have no partner. To You Alone belong all praise and all thanks."

    HADITH

The Messenger of Allah :saw: said: Whoever says this in the morning has fulfilled his obligation to thank Allah for that day, and whoever says it in the evening has fulfilled his obligation for that night." (Abu Dawud).

Alhamdulillah. A few words enough to give thanks for the entire night.

        :salams:

do you have the reference number for this hadith
not doubting you btw but i like to look things up
It may not be easy, you may not understand it, but you need to have the Imaan to trust Allah when life doesn't make sense.

Abu Dawud 4/318, An-Nasa'i 'Amalul-Yawm wal-Laylah (no. 7), Ibn As-Sunni (no. 41), Ibn Hibban (no. 2361). Its chain of transmission is good (Hasan), Ibn Baz, p. 24.

“Mu'min” is more that just a title. It is to have Imaan established in the heart and testified to by the limbs.
