    Re: food for thought

"Often we see the dunya (that great job, certain type of spouse, school, career etc) as our end and 'Allah' as the means that we use to get there. We use that means, through making dua, to achieve our end (whatever it is that were making dua for), and then get disappointed when our means (Allah) didnt come through for us. We throw our hands up in the air and say our duas are not being answered. Our means just isnt coming through for us! But, remember Allah isnt a means. He is the end." - Yasmin Mogahed
It may not be easy, you may not understand it, but you need to have the Imaan to trust Allah when life doesn't make sense.

The likeness [of the munfiq] is as the likeness of one who kindled a fire; then, when it lighted all around him, Allh took away their light and left them in darkness. So they could not see. They are deaf, dumb and blind, so they return not [to the Right Path]. (Quran 2:17)

Qatdah – Allh’s mercy be upon him – said:

This is the likeness Allh has given of the Hypocrite (munfiq); he says l ilha illallh and with it marries into the Muslims, inherits from the Muslims, fights alongside the Muslims, and protects his blood and wealth. But when death comes, [the testimony of faith] has no basis in his heart, and no reality in his actions, so the munfiq is stripped of it at death and left in darkness and blindness wondering therein, just as he was blind about the right of Allh and obedience to Him in his worldly life and deaf to the truth.

I am always shocked to discover how many people believe that hardships are a punishment from ALLAH!

When people face tests or see others facing tests, they assume Allah must be angry with them.
                        SubhannAllah!

Remember which people were tested the most: The Prophets! And they were the closest to Allah.
