  • Re: food for thought

“It’s okay to feel sad, anxious, lonely, frustrated, and confused. Feeling these emotions doesn’t make you less of a believer. The difference between the believer and non-believer is that the believer remains patient and turns to Allah for help.”
“Mu'min” is more that just a title. It is to have Imaan established in the heart and testified to by the limbs.

"Truly in the heart there is a void that can not be removed except with the company of Allah. And in it there is a sadness that can not be removed except with the happiness of knowing Allah and being true to Him. And in it there is an emptiness that can not be filled except with love for Him and by turning to Him and always remembering Him. And if a person were given all of the world and what is in it, it would not fill this emptiness." — Ibn al-Qayyim

"Only God can judge me now" does not remove the fact that you are still committing a sin. Thus don't look for comfort in such statement, but instead one should be in fear when saying something like that. Don't look at the "smallness of your sins" look at the greatness of the one you sin against.

In the end, there is nothing we give Allah that He doesn't return... We give Him our temporary desires, He will give us an eternity in His paradise. We give him our worries, He gives us peace. We give Him our trust, He gives us solutions.... Everything we give Allah finds a way back to us - only better....
He is Al-Wadood - The Most Loving.

Oh how sweet are the words of the one who speaks thus:‘‘I ask You by Your power and my humility to show mercy to me. I ask You by Your strength and my weakness, by Your independence of me and my dependence upon You. Here is my lying, sinful forelock in Your hands. Your slaves other than me are so many, and I have no refuge or sanctuary from You except with You. I ask You in the manner of the poor and wretched, I pray to You in the manner of one who humbly submits, I call on You in the manner of one who is fearful and blind, one whose neck is totally bowed to You, whose eyes shed tears for you, whose heart is humbled before You.’’When the slave comes whispering words such as these, his faith multiplies exponentially in his heart.”—Ibn al-Qayyim on expressing humility before Allah

Our bodies easily face Makkah when we pray but the real question is whether our hearts turn to Allah with the same ease?
