  • Come to Guidance Lecture by Sheikh Salem al Amry - Al Fitrah

    Salaams All,

For those in West London, some of you may remember Sheikh Salem Al Amry's "Come to Guidance" lecture which was delivered over 3 years ago. It has now been made into an interactive DVD.

It is a perfect, heart touching lecture to show the beauty of Islam to friends and family.

It was an all day talk and the venue was packed!

He discussed the different types of Guidance.
    Hidayat-ul-Irshad - Guidance from people.
Hidayat-ul-Tawfiq - Divine Guidance from Allah.

So this was three years ago. So what has Al Fitrah been doing for the past three years?
They have been redefining the meaning of "interactive" in a DVD set.

Someone came up with a wild thought for Sheikh Salem's lecture on DVD.

Whenever the Sheikh mentioned a verse from the Qur'an, a little button would appear on the screen next to him and gave the option for you to click it with your remote control. And then the lecture would pause and then it would take you to a different screen and a recitor would appear and recite the verse for you. It would then translate the verse and give you a tafseer of it too.

Then whenever the Sheikh mentioned a hadeeth, another button would appear next to the Sheikh and when clicked, it would take you to another screen where it would explain the hadeeth to you, give the relevant sources and everything else that goes with it.

Then whenver the Sheikh mentioned a scholar's name, another button would appear next to the Sheikh and when clicked, it would take you to another screen where it would give background information about the scholar including when he was born and when he died. Where he lived. His teachers and students. What he is famous for, etc.

And then after you have finished reading, click another button, and it would take you right back to where you left off in the lecture.

But that was just a wild thought. But Al Fitrah likes wild thoughts and they decided to make it a reality.

And that was the start of the long three years of development.
There are still many more details about the DVD set which can be found at but those were the main points.

What I'd like to do though, is to spread the word of this piece of Dawah material, because it brings such a great benefit to our Ummah, it has changed so many hearts by the will of Allah, but those years of development come at a price. And that price should be paid by all of us.

I'd like to ask all of you to support this great Dawah project, run only by volunteers, Al Fitrah by donating online or purchasing a copy of our Dawah product, come to guidance at

:wswrwb: masha Allah nice idea. :jkk:
"O you who believe! Stand out firmly for justice, as witnesses to Allah, even as against yourselves, or your parents, or your kin, and whether it be (against) rich or poor: for Allah can best protect both. Follow not the lusts (of your hearts), lest you swerve, and if you distort (justice) or decline to do justice, verily Allah is well-acquainted with all that you do." [An-Nisa 4:135]

    The Prophet :saw: said:

"Whosoever leaves off obedience and separates from the Jamaa'ah and dies, he dies a death of jaahiliyyah. Whoever fights under the banner of the blind, becoming angry for 'asabiyyah (nationalism/tribalism/partisanship) or calling to 'asabiyyah, or assisting 'asabiyyah, then dies, he dies a death of jaahiliyyah."

    Narrated 'Abdullah:

The Prophet, said, "Abusing a Muslim is Fusuq (evil doing) and killing him is Kufr (disbelief)." sahih bukhari

"Creeping upon you is the diseases of those people before you: envy and hatred. And hatred is the thing that shaves. I do not say it shaves the hair but it shaves the religion!

By the One in whose Hand is my soul, you will not enter paradise until you believe, and you will not believe until you love one another. Certainly, let me inform you of that which may establish such things: spread the greetings and peace among yourselves."

[Recorded by Imam Ahmad and Al-Tirmidhi]
