Sheikh albani on sheikh Muhammad ibn Abdul wahab الألباني: محمد بن عبدالوهاب فيه غلو وشده Albani considered Muhammad Ibn Abdul-Wahab a reformer and praised his Da’wah, but he also criticized him for their excessive Takfir. He is a Hanbali from the side of the madhhab and in Hadith, he is like others. He has left no traces in Fiqh which would indicate to us that he was like Ibn Taymiyah a Salafi in manhaj in terms of his understanding of religion. Perhaps he has an excuse in this which we have already hinted at. And also in the hadith, he, like the others, unfortunately, has no knowledge of authentic or weak hadiths.” 3- Albani also said (“Silsilah huda wa Noor”, 713): أما الوهابية: فما لي ولها ؛ فأنا أنقضها ؛ ربما أشد من غيري ، وربما الحاضرون يعلمون ذلك “As for al-Wahabiyah – what have I got to do with it?! I honestly don't understand what your problem with the Hadith of Najd is. If you people stopped trying to distort Hadith and laughably claim Najd for the Prophet Salallahu Alayhi Wa Salam is Iraq, you might actually have made stronger arguments against the Hadith like, "The Hadith is referring to Musaylimah al-Kadhdhab and the early Fitan". But no, you were so terrified of the Hadith identifying your scholars that you bogged yourself down into an argument that you can't win. All it takes is to quote a few Hadith and this issue is finished.

If you had actually admitted the location of Najd (known historically), you could have flipped the argument, but now if you attempt to go down this line of reasoning it is clear to outsiders that your firqah is not objective nor tries to be, you just want to save your own hide.

The pseudo-Salafis are victims of their own incompetance as a sect.

One Salafi even said, OK, Najd is in central Arabia and Qarn ash-Shaytaan mentioned in Hadith, referrs to Najd, but not to MIAW but to first Khawarij, to Dhil Khawaisirah at-Tamimi and his companions which existed during the life time of Prophet.

I quoted the Ahadith, there are two [main] Qarn ash-Shaytan branches according to Hadith:

“And harshness and callousness of the hearts is found amongst the rude owners of the camels, who drive them behind their tails (to the direction), where emerge the two groups of Satan, they are [from] the tribes of Rabi'a and Mudar.” [Ref: Muslim, B1, H83]

One is to appear from Iraq and it happened but its man power was from Banu Tamim which was in Najd. Second one was to appear from Najd. Its man power was from Najd and it appeared in Najd. In conclusion two groups of qarn ash-shaytan man power of both from Najd. One appears in Iraq and other appears in Najd. You can read the following articles on the subject:

I have responded to all known Salafi arguments on subject of Najd. Their excuses, Iraq is Najd because East is Iraq, linguistically it is Najd is applied to Iraq, ... list goes on. There are roughly 25 articles on this on following, some very very long, I am actively looking for content to refute. so please share a argument presented in defence of Salafi position which you think is novel ... You argue with the tongue of the Salafis, you are automatically a salafi.

The shadili tariqa is honorable Sufi tariqa, if you were a member of it then I don't see any reason to disassociate from it because some najdis might/will prejudice because of it.

I don't know your definition of modern Sufism. But tasawwuf is a religious science, like fiqh, Aqida, Hadith, Quran, tafsir... I follow the way of Abu Hasan al Shadhili, many of the great Imams of the religion followed his path (tariqa), such as Imam Ibn Hajar al Asqalani, Imam al Suyuti, Sultan al Ulama al Izz Ibn Abdus Salam, Imam al Subki, and so many others.

Sufism, the Tasawwuf, is one of the most important sciences of the religion. Sufism has been taught by the scholars of Islam since the beginning of Islam. The Imam of Sufism is Imam al Junayd, just as the Imams of Fiqh are Imam Ahmad, Imam Shafi, Imam Abu Hanifa, Imam Malik, and the Imams of Aqida are, Imam Ahmad, Imam Ashari, Imam Maturidi, and others.

Imam Ahmad Ibn Ajiba said, “The science of Sufism is the foremost of the religious sciences and both the goal and heart of the revealed law. And how could it be otherwise when it is the exposition (tafsir) of the station of spiritual excellence (maqam al Ihsan), the station of direct perception and vision, in the same way that theology (the science of Aqida) is the exposition of the station of faith (iman) and jurisprudence (fiqh) is the exposition of the station of surrender (islam), all of which are contained in the hadith of Gabriel.” (Miraj al Tashawwuf ila Haqaiq al Tasawwuf)

Imam al Suyuti said, “Sufism is itself a noble science; its foundation lies in adherence to the Sunna and abstaining from innovation, as well as declaring one’s disavowal from the lower ego and its customary habits, ends, motives, wants, and choices and submitting to Allah, being pleased with Him and His Divine decree, seeking His love, and detesting other than Him… You are also aware that there are many fraudulent miscreants who entered into their ranks attempting to resemble them although they are not from them. They added things to it (Sufism) that are not from it, which in turned led to all of them (both the true and the false Sufis) having bad thoughts entertained about them. The people of knowledge took efforts in distinguishing between the two groups, that the people of truth could be distinct from the people of falsehood. I have contemplated deeply over the matters for which the Imams of Sacred Law censured the Sufis, and I did not find a single realized Sufi holding fast to any of that. On the contrary, such things were only espoused by the people of innovation and extremists who claimed that they were Sufis, although they were not.” (Ta’yid al Haqiqa al Aliyya)

Ibn Taymiyyah said, “The Salaf used to call the men of religion Qurra (sing.. Qari), which besides scholars (Ulama) included also devotees (nussak). Then the word Sufiyyah (Singular: Sufi) and fuqara (sing Faqir) came to be used. The Sufi was the one who wore wool (suf); this is the correct derivation of the term. The word fuqara later come to mean the people of suluk, who followed a particular tariqa. (Ibn Taymiyyah Majmo al fatawa 10:194-9)

Ibn Qayyim wrote, "The Sufis are three categories: the Sufis of physical nourishment (food), the Sufis of outward formalities (rusum), and the Sufis of spiritual realities. The innovation of the first two groups is known by anyone who is well acquainted with the Sunnah and jurisprudence. The Real Sufis are only the Sufis of spiritual realities to whom the jurist and theologians humbly submit themselves. In reality, they are the scholars and wise sages."(Madarij al Salikin)
