Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'oon. May Allah give them an easy and pleasant journey and shower blessings on his/her grave.

a lot of people say..dont cry and be strong

i say..grieve as you wish and cry and make duas as you cry

in a family ..each sibling will react differently...we did

each person must deal with a parents death in their own way

undue pressure to be strong etc i believe is inappropriate

psychologically crying is good for you

it's Sunnah to say : Azh zhama Allahu Ajrakum عظم الله أجركم( may Allah enlarge your reward) because you lost someone dear and yet you are patient, self-control...ect
It's good to say: Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Raajioon, but usually you say it when you hear that someone dies. the relatives and friends say it when they hear about their( freind, relative) death.
