I disagree and further testify that it is real and affecting real people out there. People who havent experienced it are quick to discredit other who have. Try to listen to people sometimes.

If you believe in Allah and prophets, you should believe in Black Magic and magicians. Our prophet Mohamed (SAW) suffered from it too.

        Qur'an Surah 2, verse 102

Feel free to also check out the ayah of Musa (alayhis salam) dealing with Pharaoh's magic

          A) Why go to a raqi if you have a Qur'an with correct translation present at your home that you can recite? What does the raqi have that you do not have? Both of you are pleading to Allah and asking His help to remove the demon/magic/whatever from gayeb thats bothering you. If you think raqi has stronger eman than you and Allah will listen to his recitation more than yours then I do not know how to answer that. But keep in mind many (if not most) are using their qareen (and or jinn or both the same, and Allah knows best, but anyways its sihr ie major shirk).
          B) We all know duahs made for the self are more effective than made for others. Perhaps thats why scholars prescribe self ruqya? (while many commercial raqis use various scare and bullying tactics to get one to show up to them)
