Apparently there are more cases of "Jinns" in Pakistan. I'm not sure if that is a myth by our elders though.
People in Pakistan have too much free time. Hence, all they do is think about others. From there stems the evil eye.

We have more Jinn tunna babas then the world combined. They take money and do magic for the ones who envies of their family members.

    It is all true.

I found a taweez once and was told it was for protection against jinn. I didn't really believe that was the reason. It had 2 surahs from the Quran and darood written on the paper in yellow ink (they said it was written with saffron). The writing style looked more like Urdu though. They would not say who wrote it or where it was from.

Allah swt knows best what the taweez was for but it was hidden away we would pass that area several times a day and did not notice it. One day I was walking past that area and stopped for a few seconds and happened to notice it because there was an insect flying in that direction and I was watching the insect (was like a big bee/wasp).

Passed it on to someone who said they got rid off it. They tore it up and put it in a lake.

I did not eat any food cooked by the people who put the taweez there I could not trust them even though the taweez may not have been to harm me. They seemed a bit dodgy even before the taweez was found.

I was going to tell several people about it but thought let Allah swt deal with them. I had to tell a couple of people close to me (one being the one who got rid off it).

That is awful. Unfortunately the norm.

I know most people are paranoid when it comes to black magic, and sometimes their fears are unwarranted but when you see something like 'taweez' - hard evidence. Then there is not much room for doubt.

Don't know if there are more cases in Pakistan comparatively, but there definitely so many Jinn possession, black magic cases in Pakistan (specially rural areas) and mostly women are involved in black magic cases.

One (trusted) Raaqi recently prescribed the following for Ruqyah water - add olbas oil, apple cider vinegar, sea salt, sidr leaves - and bathe with that.

I questioned his methodology, but once the possessed person used that water, it had a huge affect on the Jinn.

I guess things are never clear cut.

15 years ago, I had some issues, one relative suspected black magic on me, I didn't cared -- but my wife insisted to see a Scholar, so I went to see Imam of nearby Masjid -- He told me that this is a completely different field and referred me to someone (raqi) ---- What I meant to say is that these people are specialists in their field, you can't question them their methodology ---- to understand their methodology, you will have to get into this field.

regarding how to know the genuine ones,
I think through their talks, expressions, faces , I was able to judge -- one was fake ( or you can say he was into making money), met him two times and the second time I played him and cracked jokes.
The second one, referred by Imam, was genuine and he recommended me surahs and also gave me a paper with something written on it.

There are a lot of cases back home. Although, now I feel that village mentality has seeped through the lives of people here, and harm is done by black magic etc.

Yeah, most of the time it's women.

I've not been afflicted alhamdulillaah. I know some people who are close to me that are.

People's imaan have gone very low, they look out for short cuts and resort to black magic.
but sometimes reasons are different, one young girl in our family got possessed, Mr Jinn said that he like her long hair .....

That's hilarious. That's the way to be, really.

I'm a wimp though, any sign of someone's behaviour changing, or voice, through Ruqyah - I want to run. And then I have nightmares for weeks, and think everyone is possessed.
