    ῾Ālim Course at Madrasah In’āmiyyah, which you are interested in, comprises of six Years and an additional preparatory year if required. These years are carefully planned so that you can attain the best of knowledge in the most efficient manner. We continue to hold reviews of our syllabus and update it where ever necessary. These Years are divided as follows:


    Pre-1st Year (I῾dādiyyah/Preparatory): This year is designed to adapt the new student to life of Madrasah, as well as basic Islāmic Teachings. This year is best suited for those students who are planning to change over from secular studies into Islāmic Studies and have pursued the primary level of Islāmic Studies. Basic ability to recite the Qur’ān and memorization of the last 10 Surāhs is a requirement for enrollment in this year. The periods taught in this year are:
    1. Qur’ān Memorization

    2. Tas-hīl ul-῾aqā’id

    3. English Reader

    4. Qur’ān Recitation

    5. Dhurūr ul-Muslimīn (Requisites of Muslims)

    6. Tas-hīl ul-Hadīth (Easy Hadīth)

    7. As-Sarf (Arabic Morphology)

    8. Tajwīd ( Laws pertaining to Qur’ān Recitation)

    9. English Writing (Grammar and Literature)

    10. English Language Laws

    11. Sunnats (Blessed Traditions of Rasulullah salallāhu ῾alayhi wasallam)


    Al-Safful Awwal (1st Year): This year is the first of the two intensive years into the basics of Arabic. The year primarily focuses on Arabic Morphology and Grammar. This year will build a basis for the student to gather all the tools he would need to read, write and understand Classical Arabic. The periods taught in this year are:
    1. Qur’ān Memorization

    2. As-Sarf (Arabic Morphology I)

    3. Tas-hīl un-Nahw / Nahw al-Wādih (Arabic Grammar)

    4. Al-Qirā’at ul-Wādihah ( Arabic Reading and Conjugation )

    5. Tajwīd ( Laws pertaining to Qur’ān Recitation) / Guidelines to be an Imām

    6. Arabic Qasas un-Nabiyyīn 1 & 3 (Stories of the Prophets 1 & 3)

    7. Fiqh ul-Muyassar / Ta῾līm ul-Haqq ( Hanafī Fiqh )

    8. Zād ut-Tālibīn (Hadīth Memorization)

    9. Sīrah ( Blessed biography of Rasūlullāh salallāhu ῾alayhi wasallam)

    10. Principles of Urdu / Urdu Reading

    11. Urdu Vocabulary , Numbering and Writing


    Al-Saffuth al-Thaani (2nd Year): This year is the second year into the basics of Arabic. The year primarily focuses on completing the introductory measures from the 1st Year. This year will build a basis for the student to gather all the tools he would need to read, write and understand Classical Arabic. This year also introduces the student to pivotal works into Fiqh and Usūl al-Fiqh (Principles
    1. Qur’ān Memorization

    2. Hadīth Memorization

    3. As-Sarf (Arabic Morphology II)

    4. Nahw al-Wādih II (Arabic Grammar)

    5. Qur’ān Translation (Juz 1-15)

    6. Fawā’id ul-Makiyyah ( Laws pertaining to Qur’an Recitation) / Guidelines to be an Imām )

    7. Arabic Qasas un-Nabiyyīn 5 (Stories of the Prophets 1 & 3)

    8. Nūr ul-īdah Wa Najāt ul-Arwāh ( Hanafī Fiqh )

    9. Urdu Reader

    10. Tarīkh (Islamic History)

    11. Al-Mukhtasar ul-Qudūrī ( Hanafī Fiqh)

    12. Usūl us-Shāshī ( Principles of Fiqh )


    Al-Saff al-Thālith (3rd Year): The year focuses on expanding the understanding and application of tools and vocabulary learnt over the past two years. This year will build upon the Fiqh and its usūls learnt in the last year and go into details. The year also introduces the student to prose and composition. The periods taught in this year are:
    1. Qur’ān Memorization

    2. As-Sarf (Arabic Morphology III)

    3. Nahw al-Wādih III (Arabic Grammar) / Sharh Mī’ata ῾āmil

    4. Qur’ān Translation (Juz 15-30)

    5. Muqaddimah Jazariyyah ( Laws pertaining to Qur’ān Recitation)

    6. Arabic Exercise

    7. Al-Madkhal ilā Buyū῾ (Intro to Islamic Commerce according to Hanafī Fiqh)

    8. Al-Mukhtasar ul-Qudūrī ( Hanafī Fiqh)

    9. Riyād al-Sālihīn (Hadīth)

    10. Al Balāghat al-Wādihah (Arabic Eloquence)

    11. Tarīkh ( History into Islam )

    12. Usūl al-Shāshī / Nūr al-Anwār I ( Principles of Fiqh )


    As-Saff al-Rābi῾ (4th Year): The fourth year of the Ālim Course indulges into a more deeper understanding of Fiqh, Aqīdah, Tafsīr and other fields. The year also introduces the student to a more detailed compilation of hadīth which will benefit as a basis for the upcoming years of ahādīth. The periods taught in this year are:
    1. Qur’ān Memorization

    2. Al-Hidāyah I (Hanafī Fiqh)

    3. Al-Hidāyah II (Hanafī Fiqh)

    4. Nūr al-Anwār II (Usūl ul Fiqh)

    5. As-Sirājī fil Mīrāth ( Laws of Inheritance )

    6. Tafsīr al-Jalālayn (20 Juz)

    7. At-Targhīb Wa at-Tarhīb ( Selected Ahadīth from a 4 Volume compilation )

    8. Sharh al-῾aqā’id al-Nasafī (Aqīdah) / Comparative Study of other religions

    9. Al-Mukhtārāt ( A Study into the Arabic Literature )


    Al-Saff al-Khāmis (5th Year): The fifth year of the ῾Ālim Course is the culmination of Fiqh. The completion of Hidāyah Sharīf gives the student an optimum grounding on the field of Fiqh. The year also provides an entry into the ocean of Hadīth Knowledge lime lighting the spectacular collection of Mishkāt Sharīf. The periods taught in this year are:
    1. Qur’ān Memorization

    2. Al-Hidāyah III (Hanafī Fiqh)

    3. Al-Hidāyah IV (Hanafī Fiqh)

    4. Tafsīr al-Jalālayn (10 Juz)

    5. Miskāt al-Masābīh

    6. Al-Mukhtārāt ( A Study into the Arabic Literature )


    Al-Saff al-Sādis (6th Year): The Final Year is the essence of the whole 6 years course. The student is finally able to read, understand and absorb the beauty of the language and cherish the spirit of Hadīth. This year is an intense course of all the major Sihah Sittah (Six most authenticated compilations of Ahādīth). The student will experience the enormous Ulūm (knowledge) that is before him in the form of books and teachers; and at last realize that within the completion of this 6 year course, he has reached the initiation toward his life long journey into the ocean of knowledge. The periods taught in this year are:
    1. Sahīh Bukhāri Sharīf

    2. Sahīh Muslim Sharīf

    3. Sunan Nisā’i Sharīf

    4. Sunan Ibn Mājah Sharīf

    5. Sunan Tirmidhī Sharīf

    6. Sunan Abū Dawūd Sharīf

    7. Sharh Ma῾āni Al-Athār
