  • Read a little bit of the Qur'aan everday

Most people rarely read the Qur'aan.

The purpose of this thread is to share a Verse (or portion of one) a day so that people read a little bit every day.

And if Allah did not check one set of people by means of another, the earth would indeed be full of mischief.

    [Qur'aan Suurah al-Baqarah Portion of Verse 251]

How many a small group has overcome a large group by Allaah's permission

And if Allah did not check one set of people by means of another, the earth would indeed be full of mischief.

      [Qur'aan Suurah al-Baqarah Portion of Verse 251]
From the Tafsir of the Ayah above,

"This Ayah indicates that if it were not for the fact that Allah checks one set of people with another, such as when Talut and the bravery of Dawud عليه السلام helped the Children of Israel (against Goliath), then people would have perished

      Similarly, Allah said:

For had it not been that Allah checks one set of people by means of another, monasteries, churches, synagogues, and Masjids, wherein the Name of Allah is mentioned much, would surely, have been pulled down. (22:40)

      Allah then said:

      وَلَـكِنَّ اللّهَ ذُو فَضْلٍ عَلَى الْعَالَمِينَ

But Allah is full of bounty to the Alamin (mankind, Jinn and all that exists),

meaning, by His mercy and favor He fixes some of them by some others. Surely, Allah has the wisdom, the supreme authority and the clear proof against His creation in all of His actions and statements."

        From the Tafsir...

"This Ayah indicates that the Israelites (who remained with Saul) thought that they were few in the face of their enemy who were many then. So, their knowledgeable scholars strengthened their resolve by stating that Allah's promise is true and that triumph comes from Allah Alone, not from the large numbers or the adequacy of the supplies."

Say (O Muhammad - sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam): "Shall We tell you the greatest losers in respect of (their) deeds?

"Those whose efforts have been wasted in this life while they thought that they were acquiring good by their deeds!

There's an app called نختم in the google play store that causes an ayah from the Quran to pop up on your screen every time you unlock your phone.
"Had Allah lifted the veil for his slave and shown him how He handles his affairs for him, and how Allah is more keen for the benefit of the slave than his own self, his heart would have melted out of the love for Allah and would have been torn to pieces out of thankfulness to Allah. Therefore if the pains of this world tire you do not grieve. For it may be that Allah wishes to hear your voice by way of duaa. So pour out your desires in prostration and forget about it and know; that verily Allah does not forget it."
              - Ibn al Qayyim (rahimahullah)

Fighting has been enjoined upon you while it is hateful to you. But perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allah Knows, while you know not.

                  [Qur'aan 2:216]
