    Depression in islam...and black magic

    Salam all...
I just wanted some islamic views on the above.
How should depression and black magic be treated in islam?
Is it something that a believer may go through or experience as a test?
If someone has been going through this all their life (depression & victim of black magic) and are still experiencing it...how can they reamin patient & not end up commiting suicide.

    BlackMagic experience!

My mother is suffering from blackmagic and has been all her life! She has been alhamdulillah ever sooo patient. May Allah Grant her paradise and success in this Life And the Hereafter,Ameen. At first she didnt kno wot this illness was. She told my father that she wants to be checked by a Aamil. A person who is experienced in all this stuff. Well she found out that she was a victim of blackmagic after a number of years... and she went thru alot of ta'weez. It hasnt gone... but we all have hope in Allah that even if it doesnt go, Allah grants my mother Patience. Ameen.

I know someone who has been going through depression as a child, due to on-going family problems.
They have seeked counselling ani-depressants (all the known ways of curing depression)
        but it hasn't helped.
This person is still in thier early 20's and cant face life any longer, basically thier suicidal.
I came across an article once describing depression as a disease of the mind. (islamic article)
I just wanted to know if thier are any islamic methods or explanations towards extreme depression????
I know the various medical and mental hepl that can be obtained in order to try and cure this disorder...but im just interested if there are any islamic explanations on this matter..
        If any one knows anything...

        Ja zark allah khare..

Ikhti, go see a knowledgable sheikh InshaAllaah. Please, make sure if he not shia or alawi because I have had family members go to these types of "sheikhs" and left with magic written on them.

Go to a sheikh who is following the ideology of Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaa3ah and if he does not deal with magic, he will definitely direct you to someone who does InshaAllaah. My Islamic teacher is an exorcist and deals with sihr (magic) and from him I have learnt it is very important to see the right people for the job. Some people do it as a means of deceiving people and taking their money. If they sheikh charges you, stay away.

I don't really think I should go into detail about what I've seen but I can say that it's best if you spoke to someone with knowledge in the field InshaAllaah.

Listen to alot of Quran, pray your prayers on time, don't listen to Music and keep up the dhikr InshaAllaah and you will be fine.

Theres no doubt that magic does exist. But sometimes people like using that as an excuse to cover up there real problems. Sometimes people need to look within themselves before they blame things on magic :D Ive heard the magic thing soo many times when the real issue is the persons got dperession coz of family problems. :p

Cure for depression= honesty with self, going out more often (Movement, fresh air, Sunlight = good), St John's Wort supplement.

Hanging out with happy useful people who exercise and wash often.

see a therapist, if possible. many health insurance companies will cover psychological health issues.

for depression i would defintely recommend salat 5times a day and optional prayers as well, subhanllah that has helped me immensley and i wish i ahd been praying 5 times a day along long time ago .
