    Tawakul and success

Allah say in the Quran"…And when you have decided, then rely upon Allah . Indeed, Allah loves those who rely [upon Him]."

    Chapter 3, verse 159.

Tawakuul in Allah is the formula for success. That you have enough iman and tawheed to know that Allah is watching over your affairs and can change over your affairs. How does change happen?

Through obedience to Allah and the 5 daily prayers with khusoo and committing to them on time. Through repentance. Through dua. Keep in mind Allah doesn't answer every dua unless it's a dua with sincerity such as crying and begging to Allah. Allah loves those who humble themselves to Him. Through enjoining good and forbidding evil.

Allahs say in the Quran "For each one are successive [angels] before and behind him who protect him by the decree of Allah. Indeed, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves. And when Allah intends for a people ill, there is no repelling it. And there is not for them besides Him any patron."(Quran 13:11)

Indeed all these calamities of the Ummah was meant to make us repentant but it's from ours sins of not enjoining good and forbidding evil. From the rahma of Allah, He pardons us and gives the chance to repent and experience calamities even though we dislike being put into a struggle. But many of the calamities can be avoided if the Muslims come back to Allah and apply the change that is required in order for Allah to change our situation.

O Brothers and Sisters, repent now. Repent now. Pray your salawat on time. And give to Allah and the needy. And fear Allah wherever you may be. It may be Allah will change our situation and the Muslims will return to power and glory as Allah doesn't accept a ummah that is humiliated.

When you say success, you mean ultimate success, right?

And what happens when you are going through a trial where making any changes for the better is not possible for you, where you have no control. Does Allah help in that case?

The situation will change when the people of dawah succeed in warnings with clear signs, for then the defiantely disobediant would be removed from His () mercy.

Qur'an 16:98 - When thou dost read the Qur'an, seek Allah's protection from Satan the rejected one.
Qur'an 6:147 - So if they deny you, [O Muhammad], say, "Your Lord is the possessor of vast mercy; but His punishment cannot be repelled from the people who are criminals."

Success in this life and the hereafter. Obedience to Allah and seeking forgiveness leads to barakat (blessings) in ones provision and a increase of it. And success in the hereafter with eternal reward of paradise and meeting our Great Lord. That means Allah has tested us and we passed.

Allah assists us in every situation, even the small ones. Ask Allah sincerely to change your situation and seek refuge from satan. You will find it easier to change yourself but you have to apply yourself. It's called Jihand Al Nafs (the inner struggle).

Qur'an 9:60 - Zakah expenditures are only for the poor and for the needy and for those employed to collect [zakah] and for bringing hearts together [for Islam] and for freeing captives [or slaves] and for those in debt and for the cause of Allah and for the [stranded] traveler - an obligation [imposed] by Allah . And Allah is Knowing and Wise.

Qur'an 22:41 - [And they are] those who, if We give them authority in the land, establish prayer and give zakah and enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong. And to Allah belongs the outcome of [all] matters.

              Sunan an-Nasa'i 2555
It was narrated that Harithah said:
"I heard the Messenger of Allah () say: 'Give charity, for there will come a time when a man will walk about with his charity, and the one to whom he wants to give it will say: If you had brought it yesterday I would have accepted it, but today (I have no need of it)."

If Allah () wills, those who establishes purification and growth (zakat) maybe successful.

Slavery is being abolished (caused by abolitionist in favour of economic slavery).
              Charity is becoming wide spread.
The Qur'an is being delivered in various communications.
Travellers are helped, guided, and they are less likely to be stranded (considering polaris, compass, gps, etc).

                Sunan Abi Dawud 5156
                Narrated Ali ibn AbuTalib:
The last words which the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) spoke were: Prayer, prayer; fear Allah about those whom your right hands possess.
Slaves are referred to as right hands possess, they are only acquired as prisoners of conflict but I know what kind of injustice happened that lead to others downfall.
