I never found that as a positive.

Just doesn't feel right. What shaytan is praying for is against us meaning if someone really evil prayed against the Ummah, would it be accepted?

Perhaps someone can provide more info.
“And whatever you have of favor - it is from Allah. Then when adversity touches you, to Him you cry for help”

      [an-Nahl 16:53].

        Didn't Iblees ask for respite?

I believe he wanted the title that Allah (SWT) granted to Adam (As) for himself.

The whole process i.e. Iblees worshipping, drawing closer to Allah (SWT), Allah (SWT) creating man did not happen in a day. It was very drawn out. The arrogance and sense of entitlement was building up in Iblees.

There is wisdom behind everything of course. Man and Jinn see things in a short-term sense, we get caught in the moment.

Iblees said he would try to mislead man and God stated that he will not be able to mislead those that are his sincere servants. So in that sense, we can say Iblees is kind of carrying out a job of sorts, he is helping filter the good from the bad, and that is the purpose of this life. In addition, those that can resist Iblees will have their rank elevated before Allah (SWT). Those that can control their tongue, their desires, what they listen to etc.

No two that were brought into existence are the same, we all have our own degrees before Allah (SWT) and Iblees provoking and looking to mislead us is one of the means to judge us.

This life is strange, short but there is so much that we cannot comprehend.
