        Re: Sadaqah

Charities that you give to should be registeted with the relevant body - in the UK that the charity commission.
Charity does start at home,so if you are able to to do so, and if you have poor relatives back home or even know of good grassroots chariteis where you live give to them first.

Dont forget those that are most vulnerable in our society, the young, the elderly, widows and orphans. Personally i think the best type of charity is that which helps someone to empower themselves - e.g something which helps them earn their own living. Muslim hands and most major charities deal with this.

No. Some organizations use some parts of the donation for their admin.

Uwt gives you a break down of where the money goes in their yearly audits.

Salam Muslimah, If you want to give sadaqah you should donate it to the poor in your relatives or neighbours if you can't find then you can also donate it to the charity organisations that you trust and registered with the Government. If you are living in the UK you can check all the registered charity organisation over here: https://www.fundraisingregulator.org.uk/

But, usually, I am making my donations through: https://www.sktwelfare.org/ as this is Islamic Charity and I have personally checked their transparency. So, that's my suggestion else you can choose your own and do some research on.

                          Jazzak ALLAH Khair.
