  • Regular daily worship but still miserable

Has or does anyone experience an unhappy state of mind even having fulfilled their daily obligations and more. This is praying your 5 with a decent/good level of concentration, including 1 or 2 at the masjid in jamaat. Quran recitation couple of times a week. No music listening, just Qur'an recitation, no TV, no bad deeds to darken your heart. Making an effort to think about what you say, restraining yourself. Basically everything in check but still not in a positive state of mind? In fact, very miserable.

Even the maghrib recitation today at the masjid, struck me in the heart, and it nearly shed a tear.

    Something isn't right.

When you do these things to worship Allah swt you should feel glad that you were able to do them, as all good deeds are recorded. Why don't you try and see if you're doing something haraam that you're not aware of.

      Asalamu aleykum
It seems like your feeding your soul but there doesn't seem to be any stimulation for your mind .If you don't know Arabic then Shaitan can use that so that you don't focus on the Quran when reading or reciting . Do you get the opportunity to interact with fellow muslims on a consistent basis ? Depending on your personality type it could be that that you are an extrovert and need to be around other people because that is how you get you get energy and are stimulated . It could also be that the religion has become a chore so you need to find something that stimulates your mind and feeds your soul . Change your routine so that it is no longer a habit or try and go to a different class by a different teacher . Attend classes about Allah names and attributes , read about jannah or learn the Arabic language so that when you read the Quran you can understand it . Allah is Al Salam the source of all peace Insha Allah by being sincere to him in worship He will put tranquillity in your heart .

So whoever knows that he belongs to Allaah as a servant and that he will return to Him, then he should know that he will be stopped. And whoever knows that he will be stopped, then he should know that he will be questioned. And whoever knows that he will be questioned, then let him prepare an answer for the question.[/COLOR]
