  • Is investing money like this haram? Im pretty desperate bros and sis...

Desperate because well I'm broke (can't find job atm)

Is this like considered interest or something?
I'm thinking of joining ventures with this person and he has an online business...

For example I pay him $250 and for the next six months he pays me back $75 for each month which = $450 back.

Heres his post more detailed. Please check it out.

i dont know if thats permissible or not, but is this someone u know personally or just somone u know online...if u dont know them personally, as in they are a freinds of yours for some time and u know them and their character well, then i wouldnt get involved.

Stand out firmly for justice, as witnesses to Allah, even as against yourselves, or your parents, or your kin, and whether it be (against) rich or poor: for Allah can best protect both. Follow not the lusts (of your hearts), lest you swerve, and if you distort (justice) or decline to do justice, verily Allah is well-acquainted with all that you do." [An-Nisa 4:135]

    The Prophet :saw: said:

Whoever fights under the banner of the blind, becoming angry for 'asabiyyah (nationalism/tribalism/partisanship) or calling to 'asabiyyah, or assisting 'asabiyyah, then dies, he dies a death of jaahiliyyah."

If this really was credible business with long term benefit the owner / advertiser would go to big shot investors who would invest 6 figure sums. Why doesn't he do that? Why is he preying on randoms on the internet?

you know why, because it is aimed at desperate people like you. Its a scam!

Reading deeper into the OP's link it looks like a ponzi scheme. Ponzi schemes are not a legitimate source of income.

Brother, have patience. This world is temporary. Don't get involved in something you will regret later. I was also out of work for a long time, but Alhamdulillah I am now working in a Muslim country with a good salary and a good work environment. Have patience, and don't abandon the prayers, don't give up making dua, and don't abandon the Quran. Use this time to improve your relationship with Allah. And always do istikhara and seek advice from knowledgeable people before accepting any job or starting any business venture.

Tell us more about your educational and work background so that we can try to help you, InshaAllah.

What will I do with the money?
                  -----------------------------------------------
1.) Invest in to upgrades (Multiplier of Traffic Sources, Membership Types)
2.) Invest in to domain, hosting, graphic works...

Which is laughable, most likely you will not see that money again and all the "positive" replies you are reading on the forum are either the same guy or his friends
looking for people to rip off.

You may even recieve one or two payments for them to show you they are legit, but eventually you will lose your money.

Akhi turn to Allah (swt) for your rizq needs, because if you can't find a job and Allah (swt) is not giving you rizq there is nobody except Him (swt) who can give you Rizq.

That is how ponzi schemes work.

It starts off positive, but eventually there comes a point where so many people put in their money it is not possible to pay them all back and the system collapses. The owner lives off the money until it collapses.

based on what you've said, any money above what you give is interest. the link mentions business partners/investors but there is no contract of partnership. it wouldn't be permissible to engage in such a venture.

secondly I would be wary about getting involved in such internet ventures when no1 is really known.

                        thirdly, be patient.

Akhi, guess what, I've worked as a designer for an entrepreneur who worked in a similar way and I was actually pretty shocked that the questions and answers she used for testimonials was created by herself and the photos she told me to get was from iStockPhoto lol.. So don't trust them, it's simple. If it did work then everyone in the world would be a millionaire.

Yes, it's haram. Because you would be consuming interest based on a lend.

If you invested that 250 in a percentage of his business then received payments based on that percentage then that is halal.

I see what everyone is saying and its risky so I'm not gonna through with it. And for everyone saying be patient, its been at least 2 years of me being jobless...so its killing me having no income flowing
