Going to the Mosque for the first time

Any advice? I am 14 years old, the parents don't know. What should I expect? What should I do?

I have seen your post before but cant remember any details if any.

1.Are you parents atheists or follow a religion?
    2. Do you think they would be willing to accept your choice of faith?

As for the mosque, if you go spend your time outside of the home with your friends then you can slip into a mosque, the first time I went I did not know what to expect.

    1. Take off your shoes
    2. Plain Clothes without images
    3. Hat
    4. If you require ablution, then do it in the mosque
    5. Take a place preferably near the front.
    6. When the pray starts then take part.
    7. After pray there sometimes be small lectures around 15 mins, take part in them and you will find support from other muslims.

No one will ask you any questions. When I was at school we used dare people only boys, to enter places of worship, out of all the places the Mosque is an easy target.

      1. They are Mormons
      2. No, they wouldn't. I'm waiting to tell them when I feel ready
      3. I don't have a hat, what type should I buy to wear to the mosque?
      4. I'm taking my Shahadah at the mosque, who do I look for?
      5. Is the lecture going to be in Arabic?

      Thank you.

        Brother

Go to the Mosque and ask anyone who goes in if you can speak to the Imam, they will tell you everything what to do Inshallah.

Not a cap, even a wooly hat will do, or find a shop that sells Islamic products, if you cant find the shop then a wooly hat will do.

          Have you said your Shahadah?

Im guessing you wont know who the Imam is, then in that case approach someone if then can take you to the Imam, or wait for the prayer to finish and approach the Imam and explain him your position and you can say the Shahadah there in public or in privacy if you feel your family will find out.

Depends on Mosque, should be in english, if not then ask someone to translate for you and you will make friends on the way, because its not a full lecture but a short talk.

Mash'Allah. Only 14 years old. May Allah keep you guided on the straight path.

Just go to the Masjid, and ask to see the Imam. Tell him what you intend to do, and Insh'Allah, he'll explain everything & answer any questions u may have.

              Ameen^^^

I suggest you keep a close knit of brothers and yeah go with them whenever possible, you should expect simplicity and unity inshAllah
(The hypocrites) will call the believers: "Were we not with you?" The believers will reply: "Yes! But you led yourselves into temptations, you looked forward for our destruction; you doubted (in Faith); and you were deceived by false desires, till the Command of Allah came to pass. And the chief deceiver (Satan) deceived you in respect of Allah."57:14

bro, you dont need a hat to pray, you can pray without it.

Maybe, but is it not a Sunnah?

Also majority would have hats on, so with a hat one feels more at home.
