    Mashwara

    :salams

I was wondering if anyone has any good information about the importance of making Mashwara? Any stories, articles, etc would be greatly appreciated.

    :jkk:
The Sahaba (radiAllahu anhum) used to cling to the Sunnah just because it was Sunnah
Today we abandon the Sunnah, just because it's Sunnah.

    Assalamu Alaykum,

Well many senior 'Ulama constantly remind us as students and graduates that whatever we do, we MUST do mashwarah with our ustaadh / someone older... but I'll try to find articles insha'Allah.

      Mashawara? in which context?
"The objective behind Shari'ah is to liberate individuals from his desires in order to be a true Abd (slave) of Allah and that is the legitimate Maslaha... Violating the Shari'ah under the pretext of following Maqasid al-Shari'ah is like the one who cares about the spirit without the body and since the body without the spirit is useless therefore the spirit without the body is useless too." ~ Imam Shatibi - The greatest intellectual founder of Maqasid al-Shari'ah

there has been many bayaans/lectures by Shaykh Muhammad Saad Kandhlawi on the importance of Mashwara and yep he has used the verses of Quran and the incidents of sahaba to stress on how important it is....both in matters of deen and duniya.

Get someone to get it for you from nizamuddin :p

It was by that Mercy of Allah that you (Prophet Muhammad) dealt so leniently with them. Had you been harsh and hardhearted, they would have surely deserted you. Therefore, pardon them and ask forgiveness for them. Take counsel with them in the matter and when you are resolved, put your trust in Allah. Allah loves those who trust.

              ('Aal 'Imran: 159)

Those who answer their Lord, establish the prayers, and their affairs are by consultation; who spend of that which We have given them.

              (al-Shura: 38)
"And thus have We willed you to be a community of the middle way."
              (al-Baqarah: 143)

Allahumma innaa na'udhu bika min an nushrika bika shai-an na'lamuh; wa nastaghfiruka limaa laa na'lam.

                    The book 'Umar the Great' (S. Noman Shibli), I remember reading a line in which Umar said;

"There is no leadership without consultation"

Which is absolutely true in any subject and field

                        Re: Mashwara

mashwara is really important-even if its a small matter to be discussed mashwara should not be cast aside; istikhara & mashwara.

The enforcement of Muslim Brotherhood is the greatest social ideal of Islam. On it was based the Prophet's (SAW) sermon on his last pilgrimage, and Islam cannot be completely realized until this ideal is achieved. '
