Maybe it's the best they can get...polygamy is often selected by those women who have run out of other suitable options. What's weird is these men accepting those women.

How would the second condition come into play?

Guy loses his job, or gets a low income whereby he gets some financial assistance from the state = seek khula?

yeah, most people can't afford a 2nd wife without the state being the husband of one, especially those in the west.

I like how some sisters are so full of it. They come on like ''oh my condition is this and that''. But in actuality they don't even need to be told neither are their ''conditions'' binding in any way. In most cases these conditions are there just to make the process harder if not impossible.

Instead of laying down these self loathing, scrap book conditions you're better of saying from the get go if this is something you are willing to be apart of or not. There is no point saying 'yes you can have a 2nd wife but she must be a shade darker than me, weight around 7kg more than me'' and all that silliness.

Also, no treatment on the NHS - it must be private health care?

That's kind of disgusting. Men who do this probably hate the idea of women working, but they have no problem getting hand outs. That's there for people who truly need them, not someone who doesn't want to support his family and take on polygamy.

I can't respect men who do this. Supporting your wife is a fardh, polygamy isn't. Using government handouts....Muslims are not beggers and yet someone will justify it to suit their desires.

Sounds good and reasonable. It would also be good to bring up the rules and regulations set by Allah, just in case he doesn't know them.

Maybe another good condition is that she has to be a practicing Muslimah.
