Love is from allah. It has nothing to do with us. If Allah puts mercy and love between 2 people then that is because Allah has the power to do so and because we ask Allah to instill that between our hearts. Whether a that's love or arranged marriage or whatever- all in Allah's control

    Agree with Perseveranze,
in arranged marriage you might not know the person but you can just as well fall in love with them as with anyone else. And the thing is that even 2 people who don't consider each other very attractive will develop feelings for each other when they spend time together. I am a first hand witness to it. That person was about to get married and I could have ruined it, we just became too close. Even if you don't have any such intentions, it just happens.

Obviously if one of them is unpleasant person, it doesn't happen.

Love isn't something you "choose" to happen. You can't program yourself to love someone.

What does happen more often is that people who spend more time with each other, and are comfortable with one another, do end up developing feelings which can be described as love. This is why Islam has strict gender segregation rules with non-mahram.
