The enforcement of Muslim Brotherhood is the greatest social ideal of Islam. On it was based the Prophet's (SAW) sermon on his last pilgrimage, and Islam cannot be completely realized until this ideal is achieved. '

I'm sure its a sunnah too, normally just amongst the menfolk tho.

It would be useful if someone could clarify inshaallah.

It's always done in our family.

Infact when my cousin got married recently, dad was telling me that couple of the younger boys stood outside the masjid with trays of dried dates etc. Moulana Saleem Dhorat performed the nikah, and mentioned not do distribute in the actual masjid itself, because of adab, but it was fine outside.

Speaking of back home...we always used to have chuwaray and some other little things packed in a small plastic packet and distributed to all the guests.

                  Chuwaray:
Secure few moments, everyday, to reflect upon the innumerable blessings of Allah and thank Him for bestowing them upon you.

"A person who is blessed with the ability to be grateful, shall never be deprived of barakah and increase in blessings."
