yes this is what im thinking - its a very wide subject !?
Abu Huraira (ra) narrated that the messenger of Allah (saw) said 'Beware of suspicion, for suspicion is the worst of false tales; and do not look at the faults of others, and do not indulge in spying on one another..do not be jealous of one another and do not hate one another, O Allah's worshippers! Be brothers' (Sahih Bukhari)

I wanted to understand the ruling of divorce.

The main points I guess I would like to cover include

          - excessive and random hitting of children
          - constant, random mockery, jibes, insults to close family members
          - threats of using sorcery i.e black magic

I am abit confused now. What exactly would you like to know? The matters you have listed are all independant in their own right. Please elaborate abit more what you require to know so that we can help you gather some information. If you feel its too impersonal on here, then I advise you to speak to a scholar who will be able to give you appropriate information.

I think you need to ask a scholar i.e. one to one ....
When you were born you were crying and everyone around you was smiling. Live your life so that when you die, you're the one smiling and everyone around you is crying...

Man's way leads to a hopeless end...Allah's way leads to an endless hope

bro man again you need to be more specific...

who are you talking about? is the husband making the threats? or the wife? what is excessive hitting of the children? what threats have been made? who has been insulted? has it been directly at them or behind their backs? has any attempts been made to sort out the problem? give some details and maybe we can give some advice on which best way to proceed... but at others have said ultimately the person involved especially if the agreived party is the wife must go to a local imam...
