  • India: Man faces ostracism after taking up Islam

    By NARAYAN BARETH

Jaipur, April 6: Tired of his bachelorhood, a man named Kaluram got married to a Muslim girl in Maharashtra and embraced Islam. But caste elders refused to accept the newly-wed couple as Muslims. The villagers of Chainpura under Sikar district decided to oppose the marriage. But the youth said it was his own decision to become a Muslim.

The villagers assembled to organise a caste panchayat at Chainpura on Sunday and summoned Kaluram Jat, who became Usman Sheikh after embracing Islam. Tension prevailed in the village when Kaluram returned as Usman Sheikh with his bride Juli Khan from Maharashtra.

Usman put up a brave front before the panchyat and said he had no business with his old religion. His wife also gave the same statement.

There are very few girls in the farming community in Shekhawati region. Therefore, Kaluram Jat went to Maharashtra in search of a bride. There he met a Muslim girl and got married to her. The villagers were up in arms when they saw Kaluram practising Islam and offering namaz. "We will not accept him as a member of our community," said a villager while speaking over the phone from Chainpura.

The community elders have contacted Kaluram’s close relatives to put pressure on him to give up his newly-embraced religion.

In Shekhawati region’s Jhunjhunu district, there are a number of Maharashtrian girls who tied the knot with jat youths.

But this is first time when a jat youth returned from Maharashtra with a Muslim bride. The caste elders were contemplating ostracising Kaluram from the community. But Kaluram is determined to follow his new religion.

Do you know why there are very few girls there? Because they either abort them or kill their daughters as soon as they are born. This has gone on for so many years and is so widespread that they're having a population crisis and their sons cannot find wives but STILL the community at large do not learn. May Allah (swt) keep Usman and his wife on the straight path and use them as a means to guide his people away from the backwardness of their jahil ways- ameen.

that is absolutely sickening they are trying to make his give him al Islam ?!! la howla wala qawata illah billah! may Allah ta ala protect usman and his wife from such people and continue to guide them and keep them on the haq, may Allah ta ala bless them with righteous children who will teach the future generations about Islam, may Allah ta ala help them to deal with such jahil people so that they can also see the truth amin! amin! amin!
"O you who believe! Stand out firmly for justice, as witnesses to Allah, even as against yourselves, or your parents, or your kin, and whether it be (against) rich or poor: for Allah can best protect both. Follow not the lusts (of your hearts), lest you swerve, and if you distort (justice) or decline to do justice, verily Allah is well-acquainted with all that you do." [An-Nisa 4:135]

        The Prophet :saw: said:

"Whosoever leaves off obedience and separates from the Jamaa'ah and dies, he dies a death of jaahiliyyah. Whoever fights under the banner of the blind, becoming angry for 'asabiyyah (nationalism/tribalism/partisanship) or calling to 'asabiyyah, or assisting 'asabiyyah, then dies, he dies a death of jaahiliyyah."

        Narrated 'Abdullah:

The Prophet, said, "Abusing a Muslim is Fusuq (evil doing) and killing him is Kufr (disbelief)." sahih bukhari

"Creeping upon you is the diseases of those people before you: envy and hatred. And hatred is the thing that shaves. I do not say it shaves the hair but it shaves the religion!

By the One in whose Hand is my soul, you will not enter paradise until you believe, and you will not believe until you love one another. Certainly, let me inform you of that which may establish such things: spread the greetings and peace among yourselves."

Don't worry, those people are so busy killing off their daughters that their population will probably plumet soon enough anyway.
