  • How to measure emotional compatibility with a potential?

    Assalamu 'alaykum,

With all of the limited time and topics you can cover in meetings with a potential, how do you gauge whether you're emotionally compatible with them? All my life I often feel misunderstood and only a few people get me so this is a concern for me. Practically, by emotional compatibility I mean like how one reacts to one's spouse's display of emotions (both positive and negative), how a couple support each other when they're feeling down, how each reacts emotionally to exceptional events, etc. How can one know that based on a few meetings?

    Jazakumullahu khair.
I'm on a strict time management regiment and have to limit my time online. Therefore I have to reply selectively. Please don't be offended if I ignore your questions. :jkk:

The only way I can think of is through communication and knowing yourself very well. Knowing how you end up feeling at different times and situations and what you need from those around you at those times. Then you can discuss it with the person.

When you meet her you just know.
If the conversation has a flow you know you just clicked.

Have more meetings. have more in depth conversation with her until you are sufficiently satisfied.

You have been making threads on finding the perfect gal for more than half a decade. Maybe its just you

This is why it's important to think outside the box... ask 'out of the box' questions.

Order a pizza with pineapple and look for a reaction. You should know straight away. But also, how do you gauge someone's emotional compatibility? It's liable to change. Everyone has breaking points, they say. A seemingly stable person could get pushed off the edge by 'exceptional events' or even not so exceptional ones.

Also worth adding is that one has to be competent and stable enough in their own right before they can assess others accurately.

Budi, ever the perfectionist. He won't settle for anything less, and good for him. I bet his beard is slick and well oiled.

            I think you're just jealous.
