Don't worry, this fits in directly with the belief system of Mullahs.
Actually, it is a well known fact among muslims.

It is the cure of everything except death.

        Volume 7, Book 71, Number 584:
        Narrated Ibn 'Abbas:

(The Prophet said), "Healing is in three things: A gulp of honey, cupping, and branding with fire (cauterizing)." But I forbid my followers to use (cauterization) branding with fire."

        Volume 7, Book 71, Number 588:
        Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri:

A man came to the Prophet and said, "My brother has some abdominal trouble." The Prophet said to him "Let him drink honey." The man came for the second time and the Prophet said to him, 'Let him drink honey." He came for the third time and the Prophet said, "Let him drink honey." He returned again and said, "I have done that ' The Prophet then said, "Allah has said the truth, but your brother's abdomen has told a lie. Let him drink honey." So he made him drink honey and he was cured.

I cant find the one that relates it to the cure of all except death

So does this mean that you guys would never use western medicine (as we call it, I understand some of what we call 'western medicine' was preserved by muslims during the dark ages, such as hippocrates)?

            I am indeed curious.

I happen to like the taste of honey, but have very few interests in it as a medicine, but if it works, and who knows, maybe it could, great. More power to you.

Honey is good for the skin, it makes the skin soft. Also honey in mango tea is supposed to cure cough and cold. It does have a nice soothing effect.

Bumped for an answer to my question:

                Do you use "Western" medicine?

                  Paul.
Yes. I use western medicine and homeopathic medicine. Any medicine. One takes the medicine (the curative 'cause') and pray Allah it takes beneficial effect - depending not upon the medicine, as such, but on the cure Allah provides through it. Islam is a PRACTICAL religion.

                  Jamila :)
