  • Advice for getting out of sinful habits

    Asc all

I am struggling with some very sinful habits and I've recently realised that I am scared to stop sinning (weird, ik). I get this feeling of trepidation, like that of being at a cliff edge. Does anyone have any experience of this feeling or advice for how to push past what I hope is just a phase? It's really strange because I feel like I have a firm belief in all things Islam, conceptually at least. But in a practical sense I am really at a loss.

    Thanks for reading

    wa alaikum us-salaam

If you are struggling with sins, balance up with good habits. As the hadith says, follow up a bad deed with a good one and it will wipe it out. And of particular note is salaah. Pray regularly and make it of good quality, as there is something special about salaah in that it helps you to avoid doing evil deeds.

The hope is that the more good deeds you do, the easier it will be to leave off bad deeds... in the end.

    I wish you well!
