Few years ago, I was always pushing my boundaries, mostly because I grew up in a small bubble and everything in life involved me expending my bubbles. Now as I got older, that bubble got bigger and I don't find myself pushing as much, which I miss. I miss that nervous, scared but excited and pride for being able to conquer something I wasn't comfortable in.

Goal is to motivate each other to keeping pushing because growth is outside our comfort zone

Re: Last thing you did to Step out of your comfortzone

Yesterday I ran/walked 5K on treadmill for first time, it took me 47min but still I was able to finish it. Normally I give up half way thru & switch machine. I just can't stay on one thing for that long but I did it. I have done leisure walk for longer distance over longer time while chilling with friends but this is different. After Ramadan Inshallah I will pick up. My goal is to get it under 30 min

on another news, I normally don't get involved in work organization. I attend few of the events hosted by these organization as guest but never joined them to help host. I made personal goal this year to join one organization & get involved a little bit more as a way of networking. We have 1000 people on site & my lab is away from most people so I hardly interact with people. It is the same 20 people I see every day in a site with 1000 people. sometimes, I feel like a ghost. So I choose Asian business org. just because I am Asian. Yesterday was the first event where I was helping instead of attending like guest. I actually liked it, I like being part of the inner circle. I will continue this year

Re: Last thing you did to Step out of your comfortzone

As someone who's so used to being lead and guided in all-girl groups for extra curriculars, I was finally made to take the lead in an ad-hoc group I joined.

With my team we had to organize a couple of events, liase with vip people (made me super anxious because I had to eventually face them once we meet ), raise funds, be the emcee for the event and manage crowds, did posters for publicity, and had to make sure that the events I ran were smooth sailing. . I was always lost and forgetful, felt ridiculed to the point of crying and losing my hours of sleep, mind you. It was my first time doing anything like that, esp knowing my reserved nature so I was worried I would ruin it.

Also, I wasn't perfect in leading people or anything. I even had a difficult time talking loudly in group circles, even though this was a usual ritual we did every time we meet.

It came and went. All events turned out better than expected. We got great reviews. And my colleagues taught I led the group well.

I was so happy and relieved.

I am the type of person who likes to be in control (to the best of my ability) of my life, but I've just embraced an opportunity that sort of tips everything on its head and now I don't feel as in control as I normally... I don't like this feeling

Yesterday I took a day off work to catch up on sleep but I couldn't sleep much as my nephew was sick & crying constantly. So I went to gym, I have never been to gym on Ramadan while fasting. I decided to join yoga class, this was middle of the day before zuhar. To my surprise, I completed 1 hour of yoga & had plenty of energy rest of the day all while fasting. It was great & now I know that I am capable off working out while fasting
