  • Take advantage of your "feeling low" stages in life

    :salams:

We all have ups and downs it is a part of life, but I've noticed from personal experience that I am closest to my Lord when I reach a very low point in my life (as we all do). What does shaytan want us to do in those low points? Numb the feelings, drink alcohol, do drugs, relapse into our addictions (gambling, pornography etc). But no. We must take full advantage of our vulnerable state and turn to Allah ta'ala as should. Where you will feel the only one who understands you is Him and the only one with the answers is Him but you just need to observe patience.

But how does one feel good enough to do extra worship or to call upon Allah more? Because depression can be crippling. I think the best way to help that is by remembering the famous Ayat :

But to really get the full effect of the 2 ayat read the explanation: Source: https://vb.tafsir.net/tafsir29449/#.WL_ZYPl97IU

    English: (better in Arabic though)

And when one reads this Surah, he has to stand in front of its good news and takes his share from it, and be sure that God, tells His Messenger the same message he tells on each and every one of us: that there is ease after hardship فَإِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا (5) إِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا and all of us are going through much hardship in our lives, but it soon wears off and replaced with ease, and that the promise of honest take from God, and confirmed by an interview with the Messenger of Allah (sallah Allahu 'alayhe wa sallam) when he said, and know that victory comes with patience, relief with affliction, and ease with hardship. (sorry I don't know where to find the english version of this hadeeth but it roughly translates to this in Arabic).

So he who suffers from hardship, know that ease will come through all aspects of your life, and pay attention to how there is one hardship and 2 eases (the arabic article above explains the grammar and the derivation of how scholars came to that conclusion, I'm sorry I don't know how to translate that onto English).

This is why the statement came about: one hardship will not beat 2 eases.

(If I made any errors please correct me and forgive me)

So rest assure that ease WILL come your way in sha' Allah ta'ala as Allah ta'ala told us in the Quran. And as Rasool Allah prescribes, it's a matter of patience! So now that you know ease will come in sha' Allah, don't focus on the problem and the negatives too much and try to avert your focus to strengthening your relationship with Allah ta'ala and take advantage of a weak and vulnerable heart to really open up (this current life can turn our hearts into rock). I hope this helps others as it has helped/is helping me.

I agree and am grateful for a sad feeling cos it seems like a call to stop reanalyse your life and check you are in line with what you should be doing because with the rememberance of Allah swt do hearts find rest

so we shouldn't seek it elsewhere :)
...And he who fears Allah - He will make for him a way out. [65:3]
"Put your trust in Allah, certainly, Allah loves those who put their trust (in Him)."

Secure few moments, everyday, to reflect upon the innumerable blessings of Allah and thank Him for bestowing them upon you.

"A person who is blessed with the ability to be grateful, shall never be deprived of barakah and increase in blessings."

Wa alaikum salaam wa ramatullahi wa barakaatu

                Jazaki Allahu Khairan.

Certainly such tests can jolt one awake and remind to turn to the Almighty.

Let us but pray that we need not such painful reminders and are given ease but - where decreed for us - accept difficulty with grace and beseech our Creator alone for relief.

                  Jazakhallahu khairan sis :)
You're right.. sometimes it's when we're suffering that people remember Allah s.w.t more, and sometimes in the easy times when we're taking things for granted, that people can become forgetful. Insha ' Allah we're protected from forgetting at any time. Ameen.
