  • young women and have a bald crown patch before marriage! help please!!!

    salaam everyone,

this is very embarrassing for me to say in public especially in front of my family and friends so this is why i have thought i should be brave enough to post here.

basically due to me being anaemic i have lost a large amount of hair from the front of my head and I always make sure i wear my hijab even to bed. none of my family know that my hair has fallen out as this would be too embarrassing for me to tell anyone.i have had this hair loss problem for 3 years now .and now my parents are considering me for marriage and now im afraid no one may want to marry me due to the bald patch on my head. im a normal healthy individual with no other health problems, apart from the bald patch on my head.

can someone please give me some advice on what i shuold do or give me some guidance please

    Wa'alaykumasalaam.

Have you visited a doctor about this problem?

It may be a bit harder than normal to get married but I'm sure you will get married to someone who won't hold the hair problem against you. You should open up to someone you trust (e.g. your mother) about this problem and they'll be able to provide you with support insha'Allah. Also make dua to find a pious husband who will not hold this against you.

One thing you mustn't do is hide this from any suitors because if you end up getting married and they don't know, it'll lead to problems later on.

Wasalaam, i think you should see a doctor, they can refer you to a specialist. But im sure a lot of girls have anaemia and have similar problems with hair loss. Just remember hair loss is a reversible condition so don't feel like its a situation you will be stuck in forever. I have a family member who was in a similar situation and now they have normal healthy hair growth. I personally have a similar issue with my hair but for other medical reasons and I was forwarded to a dermatologist who recommended a product called Regain. I would advice you get help from your local GP and they can best advice you medically.

And as for finding a partner I pray you find someone who will be understanding of the problem. Whatever you do, dont feel ashamed of the problem. No one is perfect. Your future spouse wont be perfect. Just have Sabr, hair growth can take a while because our hair goes through a cycle and new growth may not take place till a few months later (after starting some kind of treatment). Seek for help, and tell someone in your family or a friend who can help you through this inshaAllah.

        :salams:

If you are not anemic anymore, it should regrow. Perhaps you have an autoimmune disease called alopecia (God forbid)?

I know it may be embarrassing, but there are experimental drugs that help suppress this before it gets worse. It may not grow back but the good news is that it may stop it from spreading. I heard there are the shots you get in the head (painful, I know) but they work much better (if not more) than the new experimental pills they give.

Either way, it's important to visit a dermatologist.

Have you made an appointment to see your doctor? If you haven't already get another blood test done.
I'm not sure about hair transplants and if they are allowed or not. I'll have to check. If possible start taking hair supplements. Look after your hair, and take the head scarf off when you're at home. Let your hair down, let it breathe.

You should tell your parents. You sound stressed out, am I right? Stress can cause a lot of health problems sister, please try your best to look after yourself. Both mental and physical health are very important. People take stress lightly and it is one of the causes of many illnesses.

It's heart breaking to lose your hair, it's very sad. Don't worry too much about marriage, let that take its natural course, right now you need to find solutions on improving your confidence and if you can improve your condition.

Ile be honest im not sure exactly how maybe just a combination of things. They used to be a patient of Dr Salim Khan who is a traditional Tibb Practitiner. And i guess just healthy changes in life. Your right about stress, it doesn't help the situation at all. I do remember them making changes in their life that helped them to be less stressed and just eating a more balanced diet so they wouldn't be as anemic anymore etc..
