  • can you help me understand/translate this dua?

    aslamu aclaycum

Can you help me understan/ translate this dua for me in arrabic.I cant speak arabic but i can read it. But can you translate every word by word as the english in this translation is a bit hard for me to understand. And can you replace the word "son" with " daughter" in arabic and everything that is grammatically female.
what does even "Your command conceming me prevails" mean? basically tranlsate this to a person that doesnt know much english but I also wanna know word by word that way it comes from my heart.

    thank you
may allah bestow bellesing upon you

. Ibn Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said, “If any servant of Allah afflicted with distress or grief makes this supplication, his supplication will be accepted: ‘O Allah, I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of your maidservant. My forehead is in Your hand. Your command conceming me prevails, and Your decision concerning me is just. I call upon You by every one of the beautiful names by which You have described Yourself, or which You have revealed in Your book, or have taught anyone of Your creatures, or which You have chosen to keep in the knowledge of the unseen with You, to make the Qur’an the delight of my heart, the light of my breast, and remover of my griefs, sorrows, and afflictions‘.” A supplication in these words will be answered. Allah will remove one’s affliction and replace it with joy and happiness. (Ahmad and Ibn Hibban)

And those who have no knowledge say: "Why does not Allah speak to us (face to face) or why does not a sign come to us?" So said the people before them words of similar import. Their hearts are alike, We have indeed made plain the signs for people who believe with certainty.Surah Al-baqarah ayat 118

    Wa 'alaykum salaam sister,

As far as I've been told, you don't need to change "son" to "daughter". You can say it as it is... wAllahu a'lam.
~‘And He will provide him from (sources) he could never imagine. And whoever puts their trust in Allah, then He will suffice him. Verily, Allah will accomplish His purpose. Indeed, Allah has set a measure for all things.’~ - سورة الطلاق : 3

      instead of abduka say amatika

I think maybe 'your command over me prevails' is emphasizing that Allah is King and his command is uppermost.

Do you not see that Allah has made subject to you whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth and amply bestowed upon you His favors, [both] apparent and unapparent? But of the people is he who disputes about Allah without knowledge or guidance or an enlightening Book [from Him].
