    If he is your husband's biological son, he is your mahram (you are not allowed to marry him and you don't have to cover in front of him).

      but for adoptive children this does not count?

        No because if he is adopted he is not the man's child.
        (but some other man's child)

        In Islam people become mahrams through blood or marriage (or breastfeeding). An adopted child usually has none of these relations.

                I just hope the child doesn't grow up to be feminine. That tends to be the case with single mums over here.

                  You're still young sis. Plenty of time to restore your trust, and find a good husband. Being a single parent is hard. Don't do it by choice.
