  • Improving Fitness.

    Assalaamu alaykum wa rahmatullah,

I need advice regarding 'Fitness' and how to improve/increase it.

Does anyone know of any strict fitness program a person can follow?

How would you build it up?

When can a person start using weights for strength training?

    This is for a beginner.

if you're adult then you can start using weights straight away in a gym ... join a gym and go to induction and they'll show you how to use them safely and put you on a program!

jogging in the park does one's health wonders; the fresh air streaming through the lungs is far better than using a treadmill but do dress modestly when jogging

This person can't attend the gym, or jog in a public place.

for cardio you can do skipping if youve got the space,
if not you can do burpees, anything high intensity will help burn the fat off faster

obviously if you got weights you can use them but with just bodyweight you can do a lot,
like push ups, if you got a pull up bar you can do pull ups, chin ups, hanging knee/leg raises, squats, dips etc

check out calisthenics its all about using bodyweight,
here are some calisthenics routines http://www.barbrothersgroningen.com/...nner-routines/

google freeletics, theres an app for it and some really good routines check it out on youtube...

i came across this site the other day which has some good workout routines although ive never tried them http://darebee.com/

also check out suspenion trainers, its a piece of equipment you can use at home and you basically use your bodyweight too

What kind of apps do you suggest?

Also - the person has enough space for jump roping, they have pull up bar, but for how long should they do each activity? I think in another post somewhere you mentioned an app for jump roping?

Burpees - for how long each day?

i use an app called clean timer and its really simple to use,
i set it up to do 20 rounds of 40 seconds work and 20 seconds break,
within the work time try to max out as much as possible...

10-15 rounds would be fine too, obviously all depends on the persons fitness

burpees you could try 3 sets of 20 reps or do more sets if its not challenging enough

you can get the looped resistance bands and use it to do assisted pull ups/chin ups and build up strength from there,
this guy explains it so you can get the jist
                https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NSIBm-RueNQ

you can also use the looped resistance bands to help with assisted push ups too by putting it on the pull up bad and using it like this
                https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ltHUkW2KmKo

for pull ups/chin up routines you can check the bar brothers link i posted in my previous post
